Manic 36 hours. Yesterday morning got up at 06:00 took the engine out of the frame. Stripped down engine and removed knacked crank. Drove down to watford did a crank exchange (thanks for that Gary). Back home last night at 20:30. Got up this morning at 06:30. Rebuilt engine and installed into frame. Plus frame repair on one engine mount.
All done as far as I can go by 12:00 today.

Have not seen Kev as yet Gary. But will see him tomorrow afternoon.

Stripped out the gearbox and replaced the main shaft, due to some wear on the sprocket splines. Thought better to replace it now rather than later. Only noticed when I decided to drop one tooth on the front sprocket.
Engine all back together and installed into frame.

Decission now whether to go tuned or stock. Thinking I need to get a better MPG. 20 MPG is a lot of fun but not manageable on a long run.

You could go pretty close to stock and use the sprocket size to add your fun/MPG..

I have a CR tuned set of barrels with 32mm flatslides, and a stock set of barrels with 30mm stock carbs. Will be running with Higgsy pipes and Ramair filters on both set ups.
I have been trying to get the 32mm main jet size sorted, which is still a bit too rich running 170 on mains. The stock set up is running 110 mains which is still a bit rich.

So which ever way I go I will need to do some more fettling with mains.

I am on my way back to work for two weeks so plenty of time to decide.

Decided to keep the 32 mm flatslides and the CR tuned barrels. All back together and ready for a blast, kept the 170 mains to see how it runs with new crank.

Just waiting for some nice winter weather.

i think you will notice major difference mate ,I have rebuilt a few lab seal cranks recently that have failed
