Had your rubber inlet manifold detach itself from the carb?
Hot day, rubber more pliable, (me)chanic slip up perhaps?
Never had this before. Left and right hand we're off today, suspect sabotage.

Especially prevalent problem with the replica inlet manifolds. They must use a different/cheaper sort of, "rubber"
It's the ethanol in the full that exacerbates the problem, causes the manifold to shrink a little.
