As many of you already know, this year we are celebrating 50 years of the S1, S2, H1B and H2 and the club wants to mark the occasion in style. We are planning a club stand at the VMCC Festival of 1000 Bikes July 16th/17th 2022 at Mallory Park race track and we would like to display examples of all the 1972 range.
This prestigious event combines track sessions, club stands, autojumble, star riders and much, much more. For details visit the website at www.festivalof1000bikes.co.uk
For spectator only tickets you can book directly with Mallory Park at www.malloryparkcircuit.com/event/vmcc-f ... 00-bikes-4, tickets are £20 per day or £46 for the weekend (including camping).
You can book up to four track sessions directly with VMCC and the price includes two weekend passes and camping. Costs for sessions are:-
• 1 Session - £60 (VMCC members) or £90 (non-members)
• 2 Sessions - £96 (VMCC members) or £135 (non-members)
• 3 Sessions - £132 (VMCC members) or £180 (non-members)
• 4 Sessions - £170 (VMCC members) or £220 (non-members)
The sessions initially look expensive, but bear in mind that spectator weekend passes are £46 each and you get two included. If you are booking more than one session then it makes sense to join the VMCC, which costs £40.
All the forms and regulations for the track sessions are available for download at www.festivalof1000bikes.co.uk but here are a few notes:-
• You MUST possess a full motorcycle driving licence or an ACU or equivalent licence.
• All sessions are non-competitive parades, with classes for all speeds. Most people are booking “intermediate” class, put “Kawasaki Triples Club” in the Class No.
• Road machines must be road silenced appropriate to their period, not exceeding 105db.
• Protective Clothing - VMCC are fairly easy going and simply state all safety gear must be "adequate". This generally means heavy duty textiles are OK and leathers don't have to zip together but must be fit for purpose i.e. no exposed clothing/flesh. Definitely no armoured jeans or trainers!
The club hopes to be able to provide a free “triples only” session, but it will depend on the level of interest, as we need a minimum number of bikes on track. So book any sessions that you want and if it does happen, then treat it as a “bonus” session. If by any chance it is oversubscribed, then places will be offered on a first booked basis.
If the “bonus” session does not happen, then the club will look to subsidise a normal track session or admission, but this will be conditional on attendance and must be claimed at the event.
If you wish to display a bike, please email Nick Patience at events@kawasakitriplesclub.co.uk . There will be a limited number of free passes available for members displaying bikes. It would also help us to assess track numbers if you let Nick know when you book (or if you have booked already).
We will be resurrecting the old club shields and trophies for this event with Concours judging for displayed bikes. There will also be some food and refreshments available on the stand. Someone mentioned beer and strippers, but we cannot confirm or deny that.
Finally, it is 40 years since the club was founded in 1982. None of us are getting any younger, so we really need to make an effort and make this a fantastic event!
cheers,
The Committee
