try adjusting the throttle stops to open the slides a bit more

Sounds like a timing issue as it should attempt some sort of start using the easy start as it's so volatile.
I assume that you initially timed up the ignition to L/H cylinder by turning engine anti clockwise and fitted the thick aluminium disc with the magnets in it facing the circuit board and then adjusted the disc until the red LED lit up and then secured it, if this is all correct then it may well be worth double checking that the coil wiring from the circuit board is going to each of the correct coils.
Apologies if you have already double checked all this.

Sometimes the smaller engines simply don't want to go and a roller or big hill is all thats needed.

A common problem on new start up is to have wiring to correct plugs crossed.

Yes mine looks similar . I am wondering if the rotor magnet has moved so I’m checking it later . If timing is ok I’ll whip off the inlet rubbers and try the easy start straight into the carb. I’ll also try putting my hand over the carb inlet whilst kicking over to make sure the carb is taking in fuel.
I’m sure I’ll get it sorted eventually…

Yes it starts …. But was a b*****d .
We (my son and me) , ended up swapping over the coil wires as we had positive to earth which isn’t correct, but shouldn’t make a difference. Also blew the main fuse …
Had to take tank back off to do the coil connectors.
Also used easy start in one cylinder .
It runs but wont tickover but we’re too tired to faff now .
Off to Jersey for a few days then back onto it Monday.
But at least I know it runs now.
Plus the oil pump seemed to be pumping to all 3 ok. Took a while to get the air out initially.
So, next week hopefully sort the tickover.

So onwards and upwards , back from a short break now.
Started the bike this morning but it won’t tickover. I got the carbs refurbished by Tangoman so would I still need to adjust the air bleed screw? Need to get the tickover sorted before I take it out. Plus it still a good few kicks to start …
Also, the bike is blowing exhaust out of the front connection on the RH side. Is there maybe some goo I could slip in between the sleeve to pipe? Higgspeeds fitted.
Also, the fuel hose seems very soft and easy to puncture/rip. I’ve done it now on 2 pipes. Is there a more resilient hose available?

Hi Phil,
Yes air screw will need to be set and when running a bike in I always run mine on the lean side, meaning if the manual says 1 - 1.5 turns out I set mine to 1 until fully run in.
Tick over should hopefully be just adjusting your carb slide screws to balance all three to 1500 to 1750 rpm.
Has with starting the bike, there is probably lots of rebuild oil/lube in there that needs to be burned off with a ride and should get easier as this clears.

I’ve now done the exhaust sealant trick. And checked the air screw is 1.5 turns out.
I’ve still got the pre mix in the tank as well .
Got too hot in the garage and I’m now cooling off in the relative coolness indoors at 30degrees…..

Ok so this morning I’ve started her up again to set up tickover. Started ok but had to use half throttle doesn’t start on closed throttle.
Adjusted up to about 1500 rpm on throttle stop screws .
Then noticed some petrol on floor and after checking see it’s coming from the hole in the float bowl of the LH carb. I presume this means the float is likely stuck open .
Got too hot to do anymore , be cooler tomorrow.
The sealant had stopped the leakage at the headers.

Yes petrol leaking could be one of the following, floats sticking, float level to high and over filling, fuel shut off pin not sitting properly and petrol seeping through, little bit of dirt pulled through from tank, petrol tap, new pipe lines now that she has run.
