Oil Tap to prevent Hydrolocking or just oil loss..

Post by Wolfie »

Those ingenious Frenchies have come up with an great idea to add a tap to the oil feed to the Pump.. Yes, I know you thought about that too, but then worried about what happens when you forget to turn it on before flight?
Sorted..

The switch simply grounds the Black/White Wire and so prevents starting until the switch is contacted by the Lever. The Rear Engine mounting bolt is drilled and tapped to mount the switch.

Some concerns were raised about the flow rate of this particular Tap for H2 consumption, which is simply resolved by drilling out the Oilways to 3.3 or 3.5mm.

The Oil Tap is from Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166676392653

The switch in the French case is from AliBaba https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... jqfUSL&s=p

However since i have various switches in my little drawers, I went down a slightly different route..
