Hi!

Iโ€™m coming to the Rally. Itโ€™s my first one - do I need to book anything or pay anyone for anything? Iโ€™m looking to kip in my van, is there camping at the place??

No pre-booking or paying needed. And lots of people sleep in their vans, myself included. ๐Ÿ‘

Just pay at the tent when youโ€™ve parked up, walk around & say hello.

Long range forecast is good for Sunday and a bit dodgy for Saturday.
Maybe Tony should bag some uo and bring it home.

Was indeed a great weekend, thanks to all involved in organising. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Was great to catch up with everyone.

Marred for me only by the breakdown on the Saturday ride out. Front sprocket came off, but managed to coast/push/coast to The Inn at Whitewell. I do carry quite a few tools including a screwdriver, but only a tiny handle with no purchase so could not budge the sprocket cover screws. ๐Ÿ™„

So the AA were called, in part just to test that the cover through Peter James Insurance worked. After 2 hours the first guy came, looked at the H2 like it had come from another planet and said โ€œ I canโ€™t fix that, Iโ€™ll call recovery โ€œ ๐Ÿ˜  So another 2.5 hour wait for the flatbed, back to the campsite by 18:00. Offloaded from the truck okay, but pushing it into the campsite and everything locked up solid! Many thanks to Glen & Mike for help getting the chain off and the bike back onto the site.

Also thanks to Farmer John for the replacement nut & washer. Lesson learnt: make sure itโ€™s secure, carry a spare nut & washer, and a JIS screwdriver that actually works.

How did the sprocket come off? Was the tab washer missing?

Always have allen screws on all covers and a front sprocket nut and washer on the tool bag just in case.
Anyway this wasn't a bad breakdown as you finished to solve it. :smt004
