More expense!!!

Had some time on my hands this morning so I thought I would take a look at my KH pistons which have been stored away untouched since the motor was stripped. After cleaning off the carbon I found that the centre piston had begun to melt, depositing material around the edge of the piston which has welded the top ring in position. So thats new pistons, rebore ...more expense!

Amazingly there was carbon deposited on top of all this which suggests that the bike was used in this condition?

I've put them away again .....out of sight out of mind!

Are you sure the dimple isn't simply there to avoid the valves?

I would go with the honing option.

Crispy, you hold the piston like a whisky glass, which is strangely coincidental to the same trigger for my drinking habit.
