Bike since age 16

Since I first had a road bike at age 16 there has never been a time when I have not had a motorcycle of some sort.
Even through marriage and three children I always managed to hang on to at least one!
Who has managed the same and how many of you had a break from motorcycling and for how long

Actually had a bike in the garage since I was 14. Not always on the road but always in the garage. Not always legal either.

First bike I 'experienced' was an old velo in the fields behind mu house, I was pillion and aged about 7

Started trialing in 1974/5

1980 and Kids etc meant no bike till 1992, since then I've had about 34 of 'em

since 14 years old, my mum's moped first, on the racing time ride again a moped which was more convenient to ride inside Paris than my small truck, after stopping racing got from my father his 125cc Yamaha RD 75 twin a big change from racing bike and Kawasaki 750 triple but still a bike

Had a bantam @ 15. Nearly went without bike just once! Buying first house had to sell me CB750FA. Soldier came to buy it on 125 honda twin. Deal was done and i kept that until i could afford a real bike.

Hi all , my first post on this forum , started with NSU field bike , then went into schoolboy motorcross aged 12 & started off with a Hodaka 100cc then moved onto a Honda 125 Elsinore then a Yamaha YZ125 , then i had road bikes from 1979 upto 1997 which included CB50T Moped - RD250 - RD350LC - PE175 - RD500V4 - GSXR750F - GSXR100H (slabside) - Fireblade another GSRX750 fuel injected then sorry too say a gap upto 2006 when i bought..........wait for it........a..........Harley Davidson 1450 Softail , then i added a 1972 T120 Triumph Bonneville & then added a 2011 Harley Davidson 1584 Fatboy , then added a 1973 KAWASAKI H1 500 then added a 1977 Harley Davidson Shovelhead 1200 , but will be hoping too be in the market for a pristine mint H2750 in the not so distant future

BSA Bantam with cut down frame at age 8 (have the most embarrassing photo EVER!!!), followed by trialling on my dad's Greeves and Bultaco from 14 to 17, then KH250. Never been without a bike on the road since, 35 years and counting.

...Bought a Puch VZ50 on 16th birthday, sold it for a White S1 at 17, sold it for a CB250 at 18, sold it for a '72 H2 at 19 and still have it! Had and have many others. Phil

1977 (16), Puch moped.
1978 (17). Honda CB125S,passed test in june,July bought my H2C,still got it.

First bike was an MV 125/175? with a Villiers 2T engine at 15, Ariel Arrow at 16, first triple - H1A in 1974/5. Currently 5 bikes, all 2-strokes, 16 cylinders but no triples

Not been without at least 1 bike for 48 years

First went on my brother's C50 aged 8 (knobblies, no leg guards and no exhaust ).
Bought a Phillips moped aged 10 with my pocket money and still have it. Then a very rough Bantam with cut down frame. Gilera Trail 50 in bits aged 14. All that was left of the electrical system was the lighting coil. I rewound it with the wire from a fizzy ignition coil, modified some Fizzy points and got it sparking. Even made an expansion chamber from the side of an old fridge with a stick welder. I couldn't put a curve in the down pipe I made from a washing line pole so it had 2 right angles! My dad told me to fill it with sand and heat it in a bonfire but it didn't work. I do remember riding to Watson and Cairns in Leeds on my little bicycle to buy a ring nut for the exhaust. Took me nearly all day. Happy, happy memories.

Usual popsicle purple at 15 and a half - ready for the 16th birthday KH250 B2 at 16 and a half - ready for the 17th birthday (a bike I still have, although my brother in law owned it in between for about 5 years), RD250 - my one was a horrible bike so was sold on quickly and cheaply. Z1000A1 at 19 years - kept for 27 years with a Suzuki TS125 and S2A in between / at the same time. Modern triumph bonneville for ten years (still the work bike and racking up the mileage know - for one of them anyhow) and an H1D for about the last year and a half. No gaps, even with a wife and three daughters to contend with
Oh yes - I also have an FS1-E-A in the shed waiting for new crank seals...

Had a Honda SS50 i stuggle to call it a bike even now,{pile of pooh feels better}
moved to kawasaki at 17 ke125 still have it.
So never been with out bike since

Not been without since the age of 10? (Back then it was a novelty for a "Kid" to have a motorbike) - Always One, and since the age of 18 at least Two, and since the age of 20 I had 5 Kawasaki triples and went slowly upwards from there

I also have not been without a road bike since the age of 16.

The only time without a road bike was during my racing years, I could not afford the extra with 3 young rug rats. I did sell my Bonnie to fund the racing for the first year.

What amazes me more is the amount of you that still have the original bike from your youth!
Oldest bike I have is probably the American eagle that I bought I thing in 2001 or 2002..

Honda SS50 at 16 (june 73) and bikes ever since. Owned some beltin bikes over the years....including 10 H2's !
