Over the winter I've rebuilt the motor on the H2C and today was the first time the roads have been both dry and relatively salt free.
So...
out we went, only twenty miles but I'm delighted smooth as silk,well as smooth as an H2 is ever going to be, needs a bit more setting up to get rid of the surging and the fuse blew just as I got home but not far off being ready for the season.

Bought some Silicone fuel pipe to replace the perished rubber pipe that goes from the exhaust to the DPF unit, £26 for 2m of 8mm pipe and 4 jubilees..!
And half an hour later down the pit in the garage (it doesn't get used often)..it was still cheaper than Ford.. £115,00 for two pipes plus fitting around £170-£200..! Robbin barsteds, And it cleared the engine management light off the dash.
But I hate cars, everything is so big and heavy, undoing 4 13mm bolts above my head gave me a right sweat on.
Then I tackled the White KH again, tightened the engine mounts and reconnected all the bits n bobs, then checked the compression, see my other thread. Grrrr.
Unsurprisingly it wouldn't start.. completely pist off by this and seeing as it was 14 deg outside.
I put me gear on and went for a ride on the H2 to get some "Start Ya Bastard" from a local town, then popped round to Scouse's too cos I haven't seen him for three weeks and am missing him terribly. 
lol.
He wasn't home.. I had instructions to return with Fish n Chips..But 'Dishy Fish' had only a fish or fishcakes (already wrapped) and a sausage.. Racca Green was closed.. Eggborough was closed so that was that. Microwave again.. 
The Clutch on the H2 is dragging a little, I had got it wrong last time putting the shorter lugged plate on the outside, I think this has slightly distorted the long lugged plate that was then being pressed onto the steel ring around the basket, it makes getting into neutral a right pain which itnever has been before.
However, if I take up the clutch a bit more it slips, so it looks like that cover might have to come off again, damn, I haven't had a single drip of oil since that last opening up...

Lovely Blue skies there Pete, looks glorious..
It ws definitely two coats colder than yesterday but I went up to Squires Caff to meet up with James the Spy, it was absolutely heaving as expected with the arrival of the sun, had to go round the car park twice then wait for an old fella to leave his space.
James arrived two bikes ahead of me, after a bit we popped round to Dave Macs who has had a right old time with his Special HK250.. He has just had the Genny rewound and put on a generic reg/rec, he finally has some decent volts to charge tha battery but now.
There is no oil going up the pipes, if anything it's going backwards putting a big bubble into the feed pipe from the tank.
He's still hanging in there though, many would have flogged the bleedin thing by now.

Nice one Aardy.
I'm threatening to do it this week, but it's just a tad too cold first thing, and for some parts of the journey the sun is directly behind everybody along the M62, car drivers can't see me in the car with lights on, so I'm not going for it just yet.

I am have been meaning to take a picture for a while but never got round to it.
I have several routes in and minimum round trip is 110 miles.
But it is nice to have some dry weather although a tad cold in the morning.

Rode the 400 to Aberdeen for it's MOT (passed no problem
) An Enjoyable 90 mile round trip through the twisty bits marred only by running out of gas on the way back. Luckily a nice young lady on a GXR rescued me by bringing me a gallon of the amber nectar

Following a thorough strip down and clean of my H1F ,which I'd spread over 12 months ,I was pleasantly surprised when it started first kick,and ran well when I took it round the block.
I wasn't quite so pleased that both front indicators and the left rear came on when the switch was turned left or right.this also still happened when both front earth wires were disconnected! The main beam light was on constantly when the lights were switched on & the brake light only worked when the lights were switched off.
After much head scratching and looking at headlight bowl and switch internals I remembered that I had fitted a new headlight, + the rear indicators and light had been removed during the strip down.So I took a closer look at these areas and the various connections that had been remade.Yep you guessed it -totally incorrect connections including a rear indicator liveinto earth.How I avoided blowing any fuses I don't know but all was well in the end.Only took me about 3 hours to sort.i'm not even colour blind so no excuses!
