ok this is a sum up for next friday

fuel warning: don't remember in France you've fuel just after the chunnel exit and then no more fuel before 60 kilometers or 38 miles on the highway A 26.
This means better to refuel in France just after the chunnel exit unless you've refueling in UK just before the chunnel.

The place where we will meet on friday 20 may at a time I don't know now as I don't know at which time you've booked the chunnel is the following:

on A1 highway coming from the North (A 26 from Calais then A1) and going to Paris

Total petrol Station
VEMARS OUEST
kilometer 26
just after exit 7

see here:
http://www.sanef.com/var/sanef/storage/ ... ces-A1.pdf

you have a toolway at kilometer 44
then exit 8 kilometer 42 of course you stay on the highway
then exit Parc asterix kilometer 33 you stay on the highway
then a rest parking kilometer 29 you stay on the highway
then exit 7 Survilliers kilometer 27
and just nearly on the same place Total petrol station kilometer 26 VEMARS OUEST

We will eat sandwiches at the petrol statin and BTW what do you want because we will doing good homemade sandwiches (don't be afraid not me but my lovely girl and am not a bad cook anyway :smt003 )
choose between :

saucisson with or without pickles french baguette and butter
rosbeef with french baguette and mayonnaise

drink: Coke or Perrier or orangina:smt004

After the highways exchanges around Paris are very peculiar.
So we will ride on this part with one froggy on the lead then the 3 UK then the two other froggies

After Paris we will have around 75 miles of highway (there is no other solution because if you take a road the Paris suburbs are very important with plenty of radars and 30 MPH speed limits!!!!) then the pleasure will begin 125 miles of very small twisty roads, a 120MPH jumping hill between two curves, without anybody and petrol stations in the midddle of nearly nowhere when need.
we will be still on small twisty roads when will arrive on the track :smt007 the last 50 kilometers is awesome (and I know each gravel and blade of grass....).

we will arrive for dinner at the french Suzuki GT triple club.

Have all the tickets for entrance of course 8)

The help bike if need will be my H2B and/or my S2A

Weather announced is sunny with possibly some short rains on sunday and around 20 ° celsius

need by Pm the mobile phone numbers of Chris, Nick, Cheno and Tartan, haven't mobile myself but will PM my home phone will be here on friday morning and will get you the mobile numbers' from Yann and Alloallo who will be with us (72 and 73 H2).

BTW at what time (french time) are you suppose to put your feet on the continent on friday and at what time do you expect being on the petrol station at Vemars west :?:

J.P. We are getting the 7.50 train should arrive in Calais about 9.30 French time Google maps says 2.45 hrs to Paris so allowing for fuel/fag stops will probably arrive at12.30 to 13.00. I will be on H2a Cheno on S3 Nick on? I have PM You my phone number could you PM me a contact phone number in case we have any trouble. Think we are all going to bring tents to be on the safe side.400,s are thirsty beasts so I expect 2-3 fuel stops any baguette will do I am not a fussy eater

JP and Cheno PM sent with mobile number.

I'm not a fussy eater either, anything would be fine but prefer orangina or perrier over coke.

It looks like the KH will be the ride, finished rebuilding and started it today - 3rd kick and it was running - sounds OK but had to replace the tacho with a working but dented spare (after I chased the clock mounting rubbers across the drive and down the drain!) so I ran out of daylight to test ride. Oil pump bled nicely and firing on all 3 equally.

Centre barrel and piston replaced with previously used items - both cleaned up nicely and a light hone.

I will put some miles on it before Friday.

I will service the GT750 and get new tyres for it so I have a Plan B.

Thats a shame you can't do it Malc, maybe next year (I keep saying that).

I'm sick as a parrot (again) so I'm taking the menagerie to the middle of nowhere in N Yorks for a week as a consolation prize, it can piss down all week for all I care, there are fields in all directions except for.... a pub straight across the road.

I daresay the Landlord will be booking his holiday the week after.

Meantime, I hope this lousy forecast doesn't extend into Gaul, have a good time guys.

have one but where? know where is my NOS H2B C oil pump but not my H2 oil pump, will search :smt002 but am at work and very busy :smt005 have also an old one off my 71 H2 but don't know the inside condition and not sure where it is :?
we can perhaps helicoid your pump tomorrow morning :smt003
If really a trouble you can pick up my H2B (means the whole bike) unless we fit my H2B oil pump with H2B carbs and oil pipes (should have a whole system on spare but not sure where the oil pipes, exactly the black pipes which go from the oil pump to the carbs).I know where is the 3 into 1 pipe which has been used by you Wolfie some years ago now. :smt002

I just wanted to thank some people.

JP, Allo Allo, and the Suzuki Triples Club de France for all the support that they gave after Cheno's tragic death.

Tartan you were brilliant helping to replace my centre piston and for sheparding me home.

Allo Allo for feeding and housing Tartan and me on Sunday.

The weather for Sunday and Monday's ride home was truly atrocious and the rain was abysmal - the riding conditions were "perilous" - I lost control (unrecoverable front wheel skid) in heavy rain and diesel when filtering on the Peripherique. Mercifully I was not very badly injured, although my arm is now in a sling. So big thanks to JP's mécanicien for fixing my gear change lever after that off.

Tartan and I rode to London together (except when I got lost in Montreuil), a difficult, painful and sobering ride.
