Appreciate your comments mate and fully understand that you need to be promoting your business

I think Mick and sue may be interested, but I'm sure the curry shop will be able to fit them in.

PEAK RALLY 2018
Not long to go now, so a short introduction to the ride out.
We have some beautiful scenery and some ace roads but we also have a few things to be aware of, like………
Cars that stop dead without signalling because they have seen a cow in the field.
Cyclists. Most actually own the road we are cheeky enough to ride on.
Hikers
Horses….. These can take exception to sudden noise, so do pass them SLOW and WIDE!!
Sheep… unpredictable little sods these are, so be wary. They WILL cross the road just when you think they won’t.
Farmers on slow moving tractors usually just round the next bend.
Crap all over the road that they have just brought out of a field in their tyre treads.
Be vigilant!!
Important. Before we set off, be sure to have a full tank and an empty bladder.
Once underway we will use the “second man drop off” system. If we are travelling straight ahead we just follow the road, but as we approach a junction where we are turning off, the leader will instruct the second man to wait in a suitable place to direct the following bikes. Sometimes the road markings may not make it clear which is the main road and a drop off may be made just to be sure.
There are several good videos on You tube such as this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzYwbsQgQMg
Please take the time to familiarize yourselves with this. It has been used for several years at Blackpool and is a reliable way to get everybody round and back to base.
When instructed by the leader or a marshall to mark a junction, it is IMPORTANT that you remain in place until the Sweeper arrives. Only then should you return to the “convoy”
The only exception to this, is if a Marshall chooses to replace you as marker.
If you move before the sweeper arrives everyone behind could become lost.
Our first, planned, stop will be after about 1-11/2 hours at the local Morisons in Buxton for fuel and a brew / snack / comfort break in their café if required.
We will be stopping at the Derwent dam about 3 hours in and there is a small café facility and toilets there.
So, relax and enjoy the ride.

But that video shows the "drop off" man stopping BEFORE the junction, not at it or even on the exit..

Agreed Wolfie. They seemed to be just following a process by wrote with no proper sense or discernible benefit.
The old Bob Brookes method worked a treat - park you bike in the middle of the road blocking it till everyone passed by.
Not that I'd advocate that in our more disciplined and pc world of present of course.

We still use Bobs method when there's nothing approaching at the offset..
Anyhow, Jetting sorted... Who knows I might even show up on Thurs Night, haven't had a decent meal since erm well. I can't remember.
