i think quite a few of us [myself included] enjoy the challenge of rebuilding a pile of shite, at least you know what you have good or bad. For me its all part of the ownership experience spending the long winter nights lovingly bringing her back to life.I don't think I could bond with a bike I bought all ready done . I have to agree with malc especially with the smaller triples it would be much more cost effective to buy an already restored bike if that's all you want out of triples ownership, sometimes it's not all about the money [who am I trying to kid ?

Yep, but not when I look at the miles and matching numbers bit. That means a lot to some people so I prefer not to mess up a good bike. I might have felt different if I had not seen the job Macolm is doing on his 750, a bike I looked at many times just for the engine and electrics. Being a tight wad I thought about it too long so maybe fate does play a part and a bike was saved from my grinder
I agree Chris. I have reserected a couple of piles of poo in the past but just enough to get them running safely. Me spending money is like getting blood out of a stone.

It really was a rare bike then leslie and yours was a mint example.
The only other person who had one was AL who comes with me to Mid-Ohio.
Its passed through a few peoples hands since then but AL now has it back

Well I have been doing a bit of detective work Malc and I think my one is in Aberdeen. Watch this space.
Did you happen to take a photo of the Triumph T140D that came in the container? A work mate of mine owns it. If all goes to plan we will be down to pick it up in February.
