I AM RATHER UPSET THAT THE ABOVE MESSAGE IS A COPY FROM FB. I , FOR ONE , WILL NEVER USE FB FOR VERY OBVIOUS REASONS. SO WHAT IS THE POINT, I ASK, FOR HAVING A CLUB WEB SITE AND FORUM WHEN STUFF IS POSTED ON FB AND THEN COPIED HERE ???

Most probably because Rick who organises the rally is not able to get back into the UK
I couldn't get yogis original Facebook post to cut and paste ( neither could he)
I for one thank Carl for stepping up to the plate and organising the rally
I'm pretty sure it would've been posted here at the same time as on Facebook if he could have
Not sure what you're problem with Facebook is?
Maybe I'm missing something?

Well the Kawasaki triples club group on Facebook has just short of 2,000 members
I would say we get maybe a third of that visiting this site?
Sorry Gotz
But I post more on the Facebook group than I do on here.
It's easier and reaches more people
I know for a fact that because of my posts about the rally on Facebook I have people coming who would've never known about it
Sorry if you hate it but it's a very powerful tool

How would they
not have known about the club rally if they are actually club members?
The Facebook group, althought it is called "Kawasaki Triples Club" is not in fact the same Triples Club that Rick started 30+ years ago but is an independant open to all Facebook group.

Because the people coming aren't members of any Facebook group, just my friends
I never said people from the Facebook group are coming
Hope this clears things up

Maybe not Gary but that is how I read it, as it looked like you were talking specifically about the Facebook group, mentioning it twice just before.
Never mind ...... whatever...... the more the merrier and I doff my hat to your publicity drive, especially if it brings in new members to the club

the first thing does any cop in the world when they want speaking with you about a murder... or a 125 MPH on a 30 miles zone :smt003 is to have a loook on fuck bok.
Then they see your nice pictures of wheelies and the photo with the speedo blocked at 140 MPH on an highway and then...
I hate social control

Gotz
I know you are upset - I can tell because you are shouting.
Yogi posted on Facebook and at the same time tried to post on this forum but his message would not post here. I tried to copy and paste his message here as well and also found it would not post. There was a computer syntax error somewhere embedded in the message.
I typed out the entire message again and posted it here. (as did Scouse on a separate thread).
The message would have been on Facebook and this site at the same time without that embedded error.
Some members use Facebook more than this site, some use both, some just use this site.
And yes, I am just saying the same as Scouse - but I think it is worth saying.
Oh and thanks to Yogi for putting the itinerary together.

I know you're not stupid Gotz... But I'm fucked if I can see your point..
Are you suggesting that people using the Forum shouldn't be told of these things?
How does it matter where it came from?
If you don't want to go on FB, fine, no one will force you, but you must expect to miss out on anything posted on there, someone has decided that this news should be shared (and quite rightly since it affects our Rally) and you're up in arms??.

That's how I read it. I very rarely use FB. I will say here and now that i do object to non members accessing the web site and rally. It doesn't really encourage folk to pay subs when every other bugger can come to the rally and get all the help and info through free face book. But, not quite sure why Gotz hates FB so badly

My point is simple. This rally is organized by members of the Kawasaki Triples Club who finance, maintain and moderate this site. It would be proper , in my opinion, to publish matters concerning our club rallies here
first, rather than reading copies from other social media.

But if he hadn't said... no one would have known it was copied from there..
and you can't trap people here, paid for or not.
And what if it was put here first and copied to FB?? Or copied from RBs... or even Simons then put on here?
I don't know if you have noticed but there a lot of missing faces from here these days.
I'm not a lover of FB either, I emptied my account in Dec and haven't darkened their doors since, but a lot of people are part of their product these days.

Unfortunately Gotz if you don't move with the times and encourage more people to get involved the club (and forum) will slowly dwindle. I bet the club is reaching a peak now (if it hasn't already) due to the age group involved and any publicity is good publicity. I don't know how you expect to encourage new people to join if the rally is a closed shop?
