Did Mick Grant run it on open spannies for the 1975 TT ??

I`d have thought the noise regs would have forced them on to silenced pipes by 1975 ??

I wonder how practical the watercooled top end, dry clutch etc would be on a road bike?

I mean thenot just power band, how often you would need to rebuild the motor?

Think I've seen Barry Sheene's 1975 RG500 with no silencing.

They didn't, Nigel built it from scratch, he bought several sets of stock H1 cases from me and built up the base area with weld exactly as the original was. He recently sold Dean Hackett a replica H1RW It was either £37,000 or £47,000 can't remember which.

However, THIS is the original bike that won the I.O.M. TT . . . . It's actually a VERY grey Area, Stan Shenton built 3 bikes, One of which won the TT, One was broken up to keep the others on the track for the following races at Assen, NOBODY can prove which is the TT winner, the bike I had or the One in Beaulieu

Neil, I stand to be corrected but am sure open pipes were still ok in 1975.

I would agree Rog.
The Yamaha TZ 350C of 1976 still had no silencers.
They were introduced for the "D" model of 1977

A bit of research has shown that Nigel Everett has had wheels, fork bottoms, gearbox, and christknows what else re manufactured. Quite a stunning machine in all.

S'okay tho. They got in. With my invite . 5 folk on one VOC dinner ticket !! The French VOC. section hosted the dinner , and one of them is/was a Bordeaux wine merchant, so there was plenty. Spare. They told me beforehand I was getting a prize for riding a Vincent with no clutch around the Paris Periphique in the Friday rush hour , but when it was awarded they announced ( in French ). That was for being Scottish !!! ( we have a longstanding joke , as I joined the VOC. French section rather than the Yorkshire one, they like that sort of thing. Most parochial!!).
Anyway , I asked if I could get my friends in to see the awards as they had traveelled from the UK especially to see it sure , they said. Bring em to. Dinner, we have room . It was a very boozy night !!!

Next day , Rick lent me an H2C with a 3into 1. Piper and overlong marzocchi shocks on it. I had to drain some petrol out my clutch less Vincent to get it round for a few laps. Went great on the infield picking off loads of cruising triples , and then get it onto the banking. And the pipe wouldn't let it rev out , and loads of folk would come sailing by !!,

That was a good do .!!

First time I met some bloke called Gary Clarke too. Whatever happened to him ??

It appears he plays around with crankshafts now, strange man.

Spoke with the owner of the H1RW yesterday.
