What a load of bullshit. If the bikes set up right they run just fine. Even if you ride like a pussy as I do!

Sam, go out and give one of your bikes a right good thrashing - it'll smoke like a bastard. Just 'cos it will burble around happily doesn't mean it likes it.

Thanks again all for the replies!
If i switch oils to non synthetic, will this cause a problem as i recall you could not mix Castrol R (super old school!) with anything else as it just turned to gel!?

Maybe it's different with all these modern oils now, but i would not want to risk damaging my motor....

there are some which will turn to Jelly if mixed, but I can't remember the combination to avoid..

If you are changing type then just empty the tank by running one type off as far as the pump then bleed in the new stuff through the pipes to the engine in one go, don't leave them to sit together in the pipes (or anywhere).

I fitted ngk Iridium plugs to my S3A and it was transformed for the better. With the standard plugs I noticed a fall off on performance after most runs. Since I fitted the Iridium in March last year I have not had to touch them again, OK it's only done 440 miles since then but that's about x10 better! Well worth the extra cost.
