Re: Morning
Yes, Eric, apart from suffering from fatigue.
He is back at work as a postman on half days.
He has had all manner of tests at the hospital blood/lungs/heart etc etc and the consultants say there is no sign he has had COVID at all??
He has put his three stone back on and is going on a course at the hospital called "long Covid" ,
which is to try and gain more information on people who have had it bad and more so to try and help those that still have major problems for it.
He had two weeks off (holiday) which was why he was helping me.
He is back at work tomorrow.

Glad he's recovering well, albeit a bit fatigued.
Surprising that tests show he's not had Covid at all: makes you wonder whether all this testing is worth the bother.
Please pass on my best wishes
Stephen

Donna volunteered for the vaccine trials and had the first vaccine on Saturday. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Good news indeed Malc, maybe the fact that test show no sign of Covid is an indication of his recovery

Re: Morning
The test is an antibody test, so anyone that has had it should show signs of antibodies. Strange that one!

Re: Morning
Not quite, you only produce the antibodies when your body thinks there is virus still present. What thee test should look for is T cells.
T cells are the "detectors" that detect virus and trigger your immune response that makes the antibodies. But of course the media cant be bothered to dive into it and learn the difference, so they never discuss that.
As long as he has T cell receptors for Covid 19 he'll be good.

Re: Morning
Whatever they are looking for, the NHS call it an anti-bodies test, my wife works for them and has had plenty of them! She had the vaccine last week and will be tested again in a couple of weeks time to see if her body has developed the anti-bodies. She won't know though as it's all secret, she may even have the placebo.
They are saying now that the antibodies seem to be disappearing after a few months, so any vaccine that is developed may have to be an annual jab.

I went to a historical site in Cuba a few years ago, remains of an old native settlement. The natives didn't last long when the Spanish landed, all wiped out pretty quickly because they had no immunity to western diseases.

Re: Morning
T cell receptors aren't antibodies, there is no evidence to suggest that a lack of antibodies coincides with a loss of immunity, Sorry to be pedantic, but its an important distinction, the NHS measuring antibodies and rolling that out as proof that you have or havent had Covid is misleading and wrong. And they dont call the T cell tests antibody tests, they are two different things. Its on Talk radio right now as i type this.

Be as pedantic as you like, just stating what they are testing Donna for, I tend to switch offRubbadub wrote:T cell receptors aren't antibodies, there is no evidence to suggest that a lack of antibodies coincides with a loss of immunity, Sorry to be pedantic.
