Have enjoyed the 2 hrs crossing Dover-Dunkerke two weeks ago.
Nice rest for the bum and food. Dover Francorchamps will be a 3 hrs ride, maybe upto 4 if there's any S2's in the group (fuel).
Car + trailer was EUR 165.

Dinner Buffet isn`t as good as it used to be, but good crack with a decent crowd lashing the wine around...........

Caberet acts used to be great fun too. Thats really gone downhill !! One bloke and a beat-box now. But Simon, you`ll love the bingo and pop quiz, har har.

We stop at the chip shop on the way to the boat, no need to eat on board then (just drink), in the morning fill yer pockets with the milk sachets at breakfast to last the weekend..

Ralf has posted on RB,s site with provisional dates for Spa 2012. From what I can understand the dates are 29. /30. June + 1 July 2012 but are yet to be confirmed

spoke to martin biz yesterday he said he would be willing to drive BIG van with all the kit in ,tents and stuff and be back up if we break down , he can get really good rates on hire vans maybe mercedes sprinter size and i am sure the club can cover the cost of the hire and crossing to such a event

You got the wrong end of the stick Gary.

For me the whole buzz about the trip to Spa is to ride the bike with tents and all the paraphernalia. When all comes to all its only 200 miles max from the ferry, I will be doing that tomorrow afternoon on my S2.

I just thought if the Club is offering, its better to be safe than sorry, after all you have had a few mishaps over in Europe

1 loadsa money for petrol

on your s2 we dont want you running out again?????

this is the way it is mr tipping , there are lots more prepared to come if the tents and stuff will; be ctarted for them and the safety knowing if something breaks they will get there bike home

after much deliberation , I think I may have a suggestion which could help

I will attend the rally ----yaeh, I hear the groans already and could transport my own H2 in my trailer which would act as back up vehicle and would carry my own H2,, there woulkd be no room for another bike if we take some spares

Its a proper Ifor Williams jobby which would be great to use as a mobile workshop

Costs can be split between us all, and there would be room int car for another or two non farting non smoking non bollox talking members...there thats narrowed it down

Ian/Rog I thank you for volunteering to be "designated drivers" but I suspect you would be wanting to have your bikes in the van, I think we could be in danger of having a full van/trailer before we leave the UK. As I see it the van will be for back up/luggage carrying and not for transporting bikes to the event. If we do have a major breakdown we would need space to fit the stranded bike/bikes in the vehicle.

mmm..I tend to agree that we need a van specifically for carrying our kit/tents and essential spares.We also need to ensure enough space to carry bikes in case of terminal failure. :!:

We also need to organise ourselves to put together some spares kit to cover most eventualities such as tyres,tubes cables etc.
Hopefully we should have enough parts between us which will hopefully be returned to us unused.
