Finished the rebuild on my H1A engine, Just got to get the frame in the dining room now to fit it. Its too bloody cold in the garage.

Got back last night after 9 days in Saas Fee, Switzerland.
Weather was fantastic. Tee shirts all week. The locals had never seen weather like it in late october.
All those triples have done a great job with global warming :smt023
Sad to miss out on Stafford though. It wont happen next year because I wont let the missus book flights when there is a bike show to visit

Not even had a holiday with Julie
Although she did say she would be quiet happy with a day trip to Whitby at half term :smt023

trying to get a jcb excavator fixed,digging out a tree root and the boom snapped in two :shock:never seen that before,severed all boom pipes so cant be moved,it was meant to be going out through a house and craned out a basement on Monday,

Spent the day in the garage hunting out bits for the 71 H2 I ought a couple of weeks ago.
Amazing what one hoards
Going to have a good tidy up in the garage and then take julie out for tea
Might even try a bit of alcohol, none since Saturday night at stafford

I've spent the past couple of weeks trying to separate the barrels, crank, pistons and top crankcase from the A7
The crank and pistons are not worth saving but I've been trying to save the barrels and top case using ever more brutal procedures. Got some success today, an undamaged cylinder ......



The other one's not given up yet but neither have I

Delivered this to it's new owner yesterday




Spent all day today on the couch with a box of tissues feeling sorry for myself

Yesterday i built up S3 seat from pan i got off Rick @ Southern. Fitted it to my S3 then got power washer out to clean up UK S3A thats sat in garden covered in years of muck!

Got home last night on my kh400 with dim lights,system not charging.
Just 12.2 volts with the engine running.
So today i have fitted a new combi rectifier/regulator from a Royal Enfield.
Its a small unit that will fit in the same place as the original voltage regulator.
Now get 14 volts with engine running & with all the lights on.
It is not a plug in & go unit.it needs to be wired in.
And good value at £11 airmail from INDIA.

i am using the same units on both my machines, they really ensure you get most out of your alternator

Hmm - I have been seeing what fits and what's missing on the '70 H1.
Checked out the wiring - a little modifaction to the existing very lightly chopped loom.

Tomorrow, like last Sunday I am off to London and getting paid for it & taking Jo with me.

I will be working for our sister company K. C. Jones Express haulage
I have to pick up my delivery in Rotherham, it will be ready about 10.30am, then I have to drop off in Edrith at 7 pm.

So we have a few hrs to kill between pick up and drop off.
Another trip to Camden is looking likely, it is about a 3 1/2hr drive back to the depot, so we don't get back till late.

Good job Monday is my day off !!

I have just part chopped my van against a car. They valued the van when it was dark, so I am going to give it a quick once over today, just in case there are any issues when I take it in!!
