Ive made these bad boys to try and get through the noise restrication at Mallory Park in November for a trackday
But as always with a special it impacts on other things so i have to resort to an older paddock stand and that crash bobbin has to be removed
I need to find a quicker way of swapping silencers than drilling out rivets

well as you may of seen I had put on some wets ready for a trackday at Mallory Park on Saturday.
And boy oh boy did I need them it was orrible

Know this is the first time i have ridden at Mallory and the first time riding in anger in the wet.
But despite the wet and cold i have had one of the best weekends of the year, Orville ran perfectly, and was revved to the limit at every opportunity (commonly known as screamed the tits of it

)
It was great to see Malc Wildeman and Roger Ramm there to spectate as well
I'll have that line sir please
When i get them sorted i will upload a couple of on board videos
here is the link to the first session

So finally got a day to clean the last few weeks road dirt, mud and oil off the bike. Since I relocated to Bristol I've lost my three garage space workshop and had to rent a small storage unit near my house. Not been looking forwards to the change, I now have no power, no lights and no heating.
But I bought a rechargeable flood light, wore my bike heated waistcoat and just got stuck in. Was a good feeling to be at one with a rag, can of WD40 and the bike.

Ill be back tomorrow for more of the same!

Not triple related but I bought these at the weekend - the caballero is one previous owner with 361 miles from new and is genuine!
Also bought thousands of spares - including 6 other Fantics in parts 2 of which are Super T - very rare.
Caballero
Fantic TI
Fantic GT
And another TI

I have one of those weird itches to own a Fantic moped .
Goes back to the days of owning an FS1-E and watching them disappear into the distance ( sounding like a farting Bee !!)
Ok, I'd pass them a few miles later, as they were stranded by the roadside with a sheared alternator woodruff key (

)
But I still have that urge ?
Let me know if you are going to be selling one of them Johhny ?

Those are great buys John! Got any spare pedal motors in the spares?

Neil, the mustard coloured TI is for sale, the GT will be for sale at some point and when I have put the other bikes together there will be another 2 or 3 Caballero's, another TI and maybe even a Super T. All except the mustard TI are UK registered mopeds.

Almost bought a blue caballero in '76 but the nearest dealer was too far away.
Ended up with an AP50. A mate ended up with a GT super 6.
Still have the bike show brochures somewhere!
Would you be offering them on this site when the time comes to sell?

It's the GT I'd fancy.

Busy day for me.
Blew my £200 old codger winter fuel allowance (which arrived in my account today) on a pair of Bridgestone BT45s for one of my RG500s.
Also took all of the black bits from my 2 recently purchased H1As to the powder coaters and stripped the 4 wheels. All the rims are undamaged and seem to be OK for chroming - I only broke 3 of the 160 spokes.
Here are the 80 front wheel spokes and 157 nipples.
The spokes look a bit grotty but have just emerged from a long soak in warm vinegar to remove the rust. They'll be perfect when zinc plated. The 46 year old nipples look new. The 77 rear wheel spokes will stay in the airing cupboard overnight.

Replace with stainless

But stainless is brittle and the spokes break. I've had to replace two on my Avenger (snapped on the bend at the hub) - just normal road riding. Proper steel is better I think.

I've got stainless on my S3 and have had 3 spokes go on the back wheel in 2 years. One more and I'm going to send the whole wheel off to malc Wildman to get it respoked in normal steel.
