MOT'd and Taxed today :D
she only weighs 168kg !!!
7 mile shake down run with no major problems
speedo reads low so needs reprograming
back end needs raising by about an inch as the number plate just hits the back tyre and 1 of the horns came undone :(
apart from that she's running a little rich , which will be fine until I get her on a dyno .
And the bit you really want to know is how does she go ?

Well

Lets say my other special was fast but this is

so so much MORE Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pulls from way down and just revs
Mega Grin Factor
and handles like on rails
not forgetting she stops fast too
See you all at Nottingahm

Sounds good. Bit louder than my 400 on Allspeeds!

Hi all
So, the last piece of the S3A jigsaw - got the registration docs back from DVLA (surprisingly painless in the end :D ) this week with age-related number, had the plate made up, and took it out on UK roads for the first time - probably it's first run under it's own power in 35+ years. No real problems, although it is quite woolly up to 4000rpm. It felt a bit crisper above that, but as I'm running it in I only took it to about 5000 or 5500rpm a couple of times, briefly, so it's hard to tell. It seemed to get worse as it got hotter, as well. It ticks over strongly with a nice crackle, so I'm guessing I need to drop the needles a notch or two? I set the clips at the middle notch as a starting point - it's on standard mains and airbox - what needle height do most people use?

It was also surprisingly un-smokey, although it did generate a brief puff when the throttle was given a hard-ish blip after some slow running. The oil pump is set correctly, according to the marks. Should I be concerned :? ?

So far so good then (I think), although I reckon I need to play with the carb sychronisation and settings a bit...

My S3 has 90 mains with higgspeed pipes. Peace of mind on long full throttle times.

After 20 miles at 4000rpm I can only dream of full throttle! I'll have to wait and see what it's like on full chat, but I did wonder with these pipes. I thought I saw on his website or somewhere that he runs standard mains as long as the airbox and filter are standard?

The very rare 400 S1b came out to play. Fitted airbox. Certainly runs better.

Well the sun was even shining in Orkney today (for a little while anyway). So thought I'd better get the bikes out for a blast.

An early morning run(7am) to the 1066 cafe for breakfast & to try out some new fuel & ignition settings.
It`s a great 45 mile ride on almost empty B roads & lanes at that time in the fresh morning air,
will be doing it again asap.

Took the H2 out for a spin with my 13 year old daughter. First time she's ever been pillion. Had a great ride out to Lingfield, Edenbridge and back through Godstone.
