putting a few more miles on Orville after the rebore, starting to let it go over the 6000 rpm but only slightly, don't want it dying before the NW rally

I took the H1 on a ride out from Margate. Joined 3 friends at Whitstable then out to Ashford (Kent) and back through the Bluebell Woods at Challock. A beautiful 70 mile round trip in the morning sunshine.
The bike performed really well and did about 20mpg.

Supposed to be 500 miles at 4,000 rpm, then another 500 miles at 6,000 rpm.
Good luck with keeping the right wrist under control.
Have just got to 400 miles on my '70 H1 and not managed to behave all the time

About 600 yards is my norm :smt003 . . . to the petrol station . . .. Then wheelie out of the petrol station (if it doesn't wheelie then it's straight back home because there is something wrong ) I'm normally doing over 100 MPH with less than a mile on a new engine, again, if it doesn't do a ton then it's straight back home to find out what is wrong, I can't remember when I last ran in a bike . . . if it is set up well then you can ride it as normal from the word go, the only thing I never do is red line it for more than a second nor do I hold it anywhere the red line for any length of time for the first couple of hundred miles.
