I seem to be picking up vibes from different areas that the h2 bubble is/has burst on values and is this likely to affect interest rates?

but seriously... and on a personal note I couldn't really give a toss as I like lots of bikes (as well as triples)and the garage is full (ish) and value is not a major concern to me.but surely if the investors amongst triple owners start to panic and sell, there could be a few bargains?
and maybe those that are left are the true passionate enthusiasts of the triples range........ at last.

The way the pound has been going up against the dollar recently should help keep prices in check. And if the projection I heard a few days ago suggesting it'll be in the 1.80's late in the year turns out to be right, then it will make importing even more affordable.

I bloody hope the bubble does burst so I can afford to buy a H2 again!!
I bought my h2 in January 2008 and this pic is taken the day after I picked it up.

I found out it was for sale and it was local which was a bonus!..I spoke to the guy and he said it was for sale but it had to be 3 1/2 grand and no less!..Ok then :smt003 :smt003

Indeed..the prices are ridiculous these days..Don't rely on these for a pension unless you have an aircraft hangar full of them!
Around the same time I bought this original unrestored 71 h1a in perfect working order(apart from the slightly bent stand mainstand)
with tax and test £1650..

Its a common problem on the early bikes when the owner stood on the bike to start up, so I believe.

I doubt that the bubble has burst yet as bikes priced realisticaly are still selling?
Top price for a H2/A/B/C is in most peoples eyes around 12K for a minter but dont be using the more expensive bikes on ebay as your price guide.
Ebay is not the place to sell a top H2.
Most bikes sold for over 12k are not even ever advertised. they dont need to be.
Top price a H2 has sold for in the Uk is 20K.
I have also been offered 20k for a NOS one and 14k for a second hand one.They werent even FOR sale!
They were offers made by people either visiting the house or who knew the bikes.
Cheap H2"s will sell all day long and usually for more than what they are realisticaly worth due to as Kas says people doing them up on the drip/bit at atime and of course to different standards.
The early H1"s have caught up with 12K H2 prices and the smaller triples have also moved massively over the last few years.
Yes there are/is still the occasional bargain and even on ebay the odd bike still goes cheap but in general ALL triples are expensive compared to most other marques.
Dont kid yourself that there is going to be lots of cheap triples in the future, there isnt, at the very minimum prices will stay exactly as they are.

Had my UK H2C for seven years now. As its modified i put an insurance value on it of £8,000. But sould not sell for that! Yes been a great investment. More importantly the most fun i could buy at purchase price back then. Thanks Carl

I get at least 3 mails a day from all over Europe asking for a H2 or prices, people still have a guideline of what they cost by the high prices on Ebay

Well, I am one of those who chose to pay what some people think is a lot of money for an H2. My particular choice was a blue '72 and every time I walk in my garage and see it there it sends a shiver down my spine. I could have spent the money on a new bike and it would have been something special at that price, but still just a modern bike, and there would be lots like it where ever I parked it.
It may be just turning the clock back in my mind to the triples I owned in my youth, but I still see it as a bargain whatever it cost if it gives me a thrill whenever I kick it into life.
Whether the price goes up or down, who cares if it's what you want. If the price of these machines goes through the floor I will still grin like an idiot when I open the garage door and see it there.

agree with Simon56,and the price of H2 follows the price of a brand new japanese supersport 750 or 1000. Nothing new was already like this on later 70s

I say forget the 'perceived value' whatever it is, and just enjoy the experience of owning the most awesome bikes ever made.

For me having a garage full of the bikes that I couldnt afford when they were new ( and I was much younger ) gives me a real buzz. Even with this crap weather I can still go into the garage and mess about with them and switch off from the pace of modern day living.
I think its great that in many cases you can own these classic bikes and then sell at a profit which means that you can actualy own them at no cost.

I have got your old bike on the lift at the moment doing some work on it.

JP......Thats right also.....I bought a 'brand new' H2 in 1977 for £1350 which was the price of a brand new 750 Honda at that time...
And sold it (don't ask) in 1985 for £3250, the same price as a new 750 Honda....
