V55/5 Form

Have just finished restoring my bike and am in the process of filling out the above form for registering the bike. Does anyone know what the ( MSVA) certificate is? And how do I get one.

You don't need an SVA - your bike is over 10 years old

Fill in the boxes. Relevant to the. Log book info. .
Plus. Box on top right "country imported from'. And. Ignore anything that looks modern. , like. Emissions etc !!!

They always seem to want power to weight ratio on the ones I've done. It's 0.2

Must have done 3 or 400 in lst 5 years, never asked for that. !
Maybe they only ask for that if you have the wrong seat cover fitted ?

Must be Newcastle office Neil, 9 in the last two years. But... Ive bought one from Tony Child in hampshire and the V55/5 came with it already filled in with the power to weight ratio field completed so he must have had to do it as well.
As you say it's probably because my seat covers are wrong either that or we're just more fastidious in the North as opposed to you midland chappies

Much as I hate to piss in the same pot as Neil (Kneel?) I have never . . . .ever been asked that one, they did go through a phase of requesting the seating capacity though

For some reason, newly met acpuantances seem to hear " Neil" and promptly start calling me ! Ian". Go figure ?!
But yeah, I have always had to fill in the number of seats box.
I suppose when the input Clerk at DVLA screws up and returns the V5 with " Scooter/Sidecar combination" instead of motorcycle as the Class designation, not putting "only" 2 seats down could be an excuse !! Duh.
p.s. Just back from Detroit Rick. There was NO container availability from Detroit due to weather/backlog. Had to get one shipped from Chicago, and laod a double-decker while Truck waited. Did it in 5 hours. Not bad !!

Used a Forklift to get them in rather than pushing up a ramp. 3 of us. One pushes onto Hi Lo , one working it , and me inside on the strapping.
Prepped the wood beforehand, that took an hour. got a new way to hang the decking which speeds it up big time !!!
mind you, you've seen the standard of bikes I buy. Less of a need to worry about scratching most of them !! but I pay by the day not the hour , and there was the promise of beer n pizza as soon as we finished to drive the slaves on
