Do your pre rallie bike checks

Just went around mine with a spanner before riding it up to the Northern and found the two stroke oil tank fixing bolts nearly out, and the split link on the chain missing, that could have been nasty if the chain had come off and got caught up.

Set off to France one year and after around 10-15 miles there was a noticeable clunk.... clunk... clunk...
couldn't work out where it was comin from as it stopped when we did.. by Leicester Forest East I just had to find out.
A really good look around showed that the link had lost it's clip and end plate.. how the hell it stayed there at all, I dunno, never mind 80 odd miles.
Luckily I carried a spare..

Decided to change sprocket set on Z900 yesterday to discover nut on front sprocket only hand tight!

riveted chain never fitted a split link
