THANKYOU FOR YOUR MESSAGES. MY BIKE HAS ARRIVED. I NOW HAVE THE TASK OF LOOKING AFTER IT AND TRYING TO GET IT ON THE ROAD.
IVE HEARD THAT NEW EXHAUSTS CAN BE BOUGHT FOM AMERICA OR JAPAN. HAS ANYONE GONE DOWN THIS ROUTE OR ARE THERE ANY AVAILABLE IN THE UK?
SECONDLY AND MORE IMPORTANTLY I NEED A DATING CERTIFICATE SO I CAN GET AN AGE RELATED PLATE WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS

KH500 and all later 500 exhausts are pretty much unobtanium I'm afraid, usual sources ebay etc.

Dating certificate can be done by Rick Brett the club President for a fee, he'll need engine and frame numbers

Even with a dating cert I still couldn't get an age related plate. They want written evidence stating what year forks and wheels are from.
Even though the dating cert states that photos and rubbings supplied and phoned to point out that 1976 was the last model year.
You will hopefully fair better as my bike (UK) had the frame replaced at some point in its life and I was daft enough to play it straight when I found out
the numbers didn't match the log book and now have to reregister it.
Now going down the MSVA route for a 'Q' plate so I have no need to keep it standard. Didn't bother Rick as I still need to prove year of frame and engine for MSVA.

Not the same situation as yourself so hopefully you will have no problems.

Good exhaust not easy to find so don't bin what you have.

No, sorry the only Repro pipes available for the 500's are the early H1/A/B ones

Remember fisher " you need a N.O.V.A number for registration,,

A new but slightly damaged KH500 exhaust pipe went on E bay for over $1000 this year.

Hang on to your pipes, if there beyond all hope take the Higgspeed route, get the bike running and enjoy it.

A good set of pipes will turn up one day.

You really don't! - I like a battle with the DVLA! Fill me in by phone or P.M - Technically virtually EVERY bike that has been rebuilt requires a "Q" Plate - or an age related number - Dated on the newest component fitted . . . That would be the 2014 Tyres or battery then . . .
