Higgspeed pipes

Excited to hear that the chambers I ordered from Dave at the Stafford show are now finished and ready to send. I'm originally from the Blackpool area and driving up to visit family tomorrow so thought I'd drop in on Friday and pick them up in person.

The only problem I now have is that I have realised that I 'forgot' to mention to my other half that I had made this fantastic investment and will have to turn up next week with a large package in the boot that is not easily explained away. :? The last thing I bought was a front brake calliper which was green lit under a "vital additional safety item" but these bad boys will struggle to be fit in this category. (don't even go near the, "it's safer because cars will hear me coming" argument - this did not suffice for the last full system I bought for my KTM). Other valid or good reasons for purchasing stuff are, "save environment", "cost effective" or "consumable/wear and tear". I'm struggling with these too.

I can always fall back on the, "it's my Christmas present from the kids" routine but this has not gone down well in the past.

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

Yep, same as Al, you need to appeal to her pecuniary side. The investment made in the Higgspeeds will promote the continued meteoric iincrease in value of the machine when you mothball the rare (and at least double the price) original pipes for future (indeterminate) refitment.

Tell her you have one life and one life only and no other human has the god given right to tell another one what to do. Jesus christ, do you have to get written permission to breath.

Suggestion 1

Tell her there for a friend, whom you owe a favour. (season of Goodwill and all that)

Suggestion 2

Remind her of your noisy neighbour and how nice it would be to get even.

Suggestion 3

The contents of this box will make me very happy.

Good luck

Doc

Say naf all

Put them on and ride past her several times .

That's what i did when i bought a new zx9r several years ago she didn't even notice.

Well until when i went to Assen for World supers and she went into Garage and found a different coloured bike in there.

oh and just to add she had been made redundant 2 weeks earlier :D :D :D :D
so there was no problem there

Write "SCRAP" on the side of the box, and tell her they are cut offs to make up some brackets. Let her hold the box, they're so light she'll never believe that there's 3 pipes inside.

After careful consideration I'm going to go for Hussain's "weight loss" theory as it will receive more interest and encouragement if believed. Actually if it is true then maybe everyone can be winners on this

OK. I have got them home, installed in the workshop ready for fitting. Latest plan is to just fit them and not mention anything about it. Not sure if the change will be noticed.

PS. They are really beautiful. Well made and nicely finished. I will post pics.

The old factory internal plates have broken loose and won't pass MOT. These were a much cheaper alternative......... :smt003
