Side stand for an H2c

I've got an H2c with a ridiculous lean angle on the side stand. I don't have a center stand fitted so I need to lengthen my stand. I know there is probably a lot of people who have done this so is there any tips about how much to increase the length and at what point to cut the stand and what material to use and what type of join/construction is best for a long lasting, strong solution?

I have a mate who has a metal working business so I know he can tackle most jobs and most types of welding.

Also is there anywhere to buy a spare stand to work on so as to not change the original? I've looked on ebay and at various Kawasaki resource sites but can't find any for sale. Are the H series stands all the same? I read here that maybe the S2 and S3 stands are already longer and will fit the H series but I can't find any of those for sale either.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The H2C stand is fairly difficult to get hold off in good shape with the loop in tact (I had to get one from California in the end) so please don't chop it up. It is a standard mod to fit a KH250/400 stand as they are slightly longer. The tab is a little trickier to get your toe on as it doesn't have the same loop shape, but there are a lot of satisfied users out there.

The fitment of side stand part number 34024-051 (S3a) is an optional mod However the issue of a over 'leaning' H2c can often be down to the mounting (jaws) of the side stand to frame and that's what should be fixed for a more effective/original solution Thumbs Up

I use a kh250 side stand on my H2c. It's about an inch longer than the standard one and does make the bike stand more upright.

I just bought this on ebay. don't know what the part number is but hope that it's something I can work on with my welder friend and keep my original stand intact.

Here's my H2c stand next to the S3 stand. It's about 30mm longer. The bolt on the H2 has a shoulder so the pivot diameter is bigger but the thread is the same. I will just need to drill out the non threaded side to fit.

With this extra length the lean is far less. Maybe I can live with it like this and not resort to any more lengthening in the leg. But maybe I will add an extra layer onto the bottom like a platform boot to add a little more length.

All I need to do is change the extension bit so that it bends round the exhausts like the original. I will probably just copy the H2 pattern in steel and weld it into position.

Or stick a piece of 2 inch ply wood underneath it.

Choose a size that will fit in your tailpiece.
