More info read, Did you have an original seat ?
Are you using hinges from old seat that fitted before ??? Or if not , you probably have wrong hinges , or front on back and vice versa.
Oh , and where exactly does it fit or not fit ?!!!

Hi Mark. I have a replica seat on my H2c and it fitted very badly, not square and sticking up on one side, even when locked down. no matter how many washers or adjustments l made, it did not fit any better. in the end i took the cover and foam off, re-fitted the seat and cut or built up the area's to make it look and sit right. recovered and it now look the part

shame we have to go to all this trouble concidering the price:(

And the H2C replica seat was from PMC ?? Or is it the plastic based one sold from a UK maker ??
( I`m guessing its from UK . The plastic base doesn`t sit true to the the tailpiece. ) However not much of a help to the O.P.`s question about a 73 replica tho ?

Hi Neil, I have tried both original hinges and the ones that came with the seat but to no avail, seat touches grab bar when you try to shut it and is to tight on tail when shut, I will try to move it forward and see if that works, it's a shame cause they are not bad looking seats with metal base.

OK. forgive me if it isn't this, but try swapping front and back hinges around first. Failing Thant go back to hinges supplied , in original positions and loosen them off before trying to shut seat: so seat can be moved around once shut. see if wiggling. It about with loose hinges has some effect.
Again , apologies,if you have done all this already, but remember that you can also loosen the tailpiece on its 4 blots and move that about as well ?

The reproduction H2 seat I got from repro decals needed a lot of abuse with a large rubber hammer. It then fitted better than the original.
