Bonjour everyone in Triple Land, for those not on facebook or not in the know my 6 year off the road / 4 year year nut n bolt rebuild of my old 97 Purple ZRX1100 into another Tango has been well & truly Tangoed
Not the best day of my life this year, Saturday 11th April 2015 at approximately 1.30pm we were side swiped by white van man in a two lane one way street in Tonbridge Rd Maidstone, weather conditions very good, sunny & dry, it happened in a millisecond the van on my right swerved to avoid a car turning right & the chain reaction of a pack of cards unfolded without warning, as I hit the deck to my left to aboard the Rex I took 4 unsuspecting innocent pedestrians with me 2 had to be rushed to Pembury hospital by ambulance, one with concussion the other poor old man had a deep cut to his leg that had to be cleaned & stitched, all I know at this point is they are OK & it's not life threatening!
As you can see from the photos the paper bin took a lot of my impact or it was the brickwall behind!! As I sit here now Thursday 16th April typing this with my new Kawasaki Green Fibreglass cast, I have a broken wrist & multiple bruised limbs but glad to be alive, the same can't be said for my lovely bike which is now a write off.
My goal was to get it ready this year MOT'd etc & take it to the Kawasaki Day Ace Cafe London on Sunday 26th April where the UK & European ZRX Club are meeting, well that aint gonna happen now infact I cant even go in the car unless someone can take me?
I hope to be able to buy him back from the Insurance company & rebuild it, early days yet only time will tell?
He who dares wins!
Catch up soon, Delboy

Glad to see you're still smiling Del. What a bummer! How long's it gonna take the wrist to heal?

Hey Derrick,
Could have been so much worse. Glad everyone is alive. Metal and plastic can be fixed, a lost live can not. Keep smiling, wishing you a speedy recovery.
P.S.: get some knitting needles to stop the itch.. you know what I mean

Glad you're not too seriously injured Del.
A broken wrist can't help you when you will play air guitar (and other things).
A great recovery Del

Thanks for all the comments guys, yes I am very pleased to be able to tell the tale it could have been a very different story.
I hope to see some of you at Shakey If I can still go? and the Southern Rally of course
All white vans have been banned from the Southern Rally site only coloured vans allowed in so that should narrow the amount of vans coming this year lol
Not being able to drive for 6 weeks is certainly keeping me fit, walked 3 miles today up the hospital, then to my doctors via the post office then back home
Do you know what Nemesis means?

Del, this is awful to hear. But, as you say, it could have been so much worse and a good job it was at slow speed I guess. Are you able to claim against the van driver, as you don't say if he buggered off or not?
