So now I have spent a year with my H2 and got the carbonation, ignition and brakes sorted out it's time to enjoy the good weather and dry roads and start having a blast.

Today I went down to Edenbridge to drop my kickstand off at a powder coaters. That's 20 miles of really great A and B roads with little traffic and great bends, especially round the Lingfield area. And I'm soon touching down the kick stand on fast left hand bends. This is the original H2 stand and it's the bar extension that is touching first. Is this normal? It will only fold up as far as the Higgspeed chambers allow it to and I don't think my new S3 stand will be any more tucked up.

Is this just the limits of the bike for cornering then? I'm sort of used to limitless ground clearance on modern bikes.

yep,thats normal,only solution is cut the bugger off or dent the pipe,or increase rear shock height and slightly bigger rear tyre

I had a standard H2B for short time and found centre stand touched down on nice bends. It was soft on rear also. My H2C has hagons has no centre stand.

Live with it try riding an early H1 with centre stand fitted and 40 year old shocks :wink:

Correct

I increased the ground clearance by fitting longer shocks 365mm from eye to eye http://s986.photobucket.com/user/gary62 ... 2.jpg.html

Took the centre stand off my H1a all those years ago and it is still off.

on production race with standard exhausts modified to have a better ground clearance in one track (albi) we touched the clutch cover on one (fast) curve

Funnily enough I re-bent the extension bar on my side stand today to fit better around my Allspeeds pipe. It was pushing the side stand out and grounded last time I rode it. All tucked in properly now.

Ha! Well I will have to grind off a bit more of my new S3 stand to make sure that it gets as far tucked away as possible! Not too worried when it touches down as it doesn't seem to pivot the back wheel off the ground, just acts like a sort of knee slider feel to let you know where you are.
