not me kept them and gave to the buyer when I sold the bike with the owner manual too and warranty book :smt003

Having rode triples through the end of the 1970s and into the late '80s I also remember this.....

We would also chuck away the heavy, ugly standard exhausts in favour of Allspeeds or Swarbrick expansion chambers. Standard exhausts were worthless back then. Now priceless.

We would also junk the indicators, rear mudguard and replace the front with a fiberglass one.

Gone were the handlebars for a set of Acebars or clip-ons.

And anyone with enough cash left over would get a 2:4 seat and chuck the old one in the bin.

We all wanted cast wheels like the RD Yamahas because spokes seemed so old fashioned. But we were stuck with them.

Riding a standard bike was not cool or desirable.


And I never once bought a bike that had a factory tool kit still with it. They were shit anyway.

Now, after 30 years I can see the romance of the original bikes. But I still have a set of Higgspeed chambers because I can't let my nostalgia get in the way of the sound those things make compared to the standard pipes.

The market is no where near as buoyant as it was for items like this?
Handbooks and toolkits seem to have dropped in value especially since the handbooks were reproduced.
Ive had a toolkit,not quite as complete as this one for a B/C on ebay twice @ £75 with just a handful of watchers and no bids?
At one time that would have flown out at athree figure sum?
Be interested to see how this one does and yes I think it is Rog?

Toolkit should enter from the side of the bag and the toolkit button on a "B" should be ***** and on a "C" ***** :wink:
No im not telling you as it something else we use for judging at the Northern in the H2 class

Surely you should tell people if you know Malc.I certainly wont be buying one at them prices.
After all, nothing can compete with your NOS one.Unless some one else comes with another NOS one!!

Otherwise it a worthless award ??? It`s a different proposition keeping a bike on the road looking like new, as opposed to storing a crate in good conditions !!!

We did here too...first thing was to trash (bin, for my UK brothers) the tools because the metal was crapsoft and the wrenches would bugger any nut or bolt held on tighter than a wish so the usual route was to trash the tools then carry a small socket set, pliers, a pack of matches (for my 72 H1) and a couple of screwdrivers including one long flat tip for the carbs. Wrap them all in an old tee-shirt and put it in the tailpiece.

Yep its me selling the tools..(as per my earlier post)

I know the bag is not correct which is why the listing didn't actually state that it was, I chose my words carefully..... as we discussed at the Rally Malc :wink:

I have other 'envelope' bags too maybe even with the correct colour button

I'm not bothered if it doesn't sell as it's not taking up any valuable space and someone sometime will want/need a tool kit that is new/complete and correct to type, you never know it may get judged and not missed during judging eh
