Kawasaki Triples Club

Hi,

I've been riding around with US spec high bars for a year or so but fancy changing over to the lower UK spec bars just for a change and because these high bars don't really look like I remember the way triples looked like when I was younger. I've had thirty years getting used to modern sports bikes with clip ons but even my KTM Superduke with it's upright riding position is way lower than this. My normal riding is "being a bit over the front end" and these just make me feel like I'm leaning backwards and also the bike just feels flighty at the front when really accelerating so it would be good to be a bit more forewords.

Where is the best place to get a set of UK spec bars? Don't really mind if they are original parts, just pretty authentic replicas will do.

There is no UK low spec bars for your H2C,they all came with the same high bars,
that does not stop you buying low bars & using them.

Neil the Don does them for the H1's - don't know if they will do

Maybe try a set of Suzuki Bandit bars

Probably made by the same manufacture

What about S3 400 bars? I remember mine definitely had lower bars than this '75 H2

If I find a set would the diameter be the same?

diameter is the same. Try going for KH250. Then. As more commonly advertised .

A standard one or two inch rise set is all you need. No such thing as " original". Spec anyway !!

you need to decide how wide you need them. For comfort and leverage. S series bars also tend to be narrower , as the wee things weig less and don't need as much manhandling at low speed.

If you like the width of the "US" bars. , measure that , and knock of a couple of inches, then get on E Bay and take your pick.

Simon Lister probably has something suitable. I thank Scouse for his suggestion of trying me; but as he really should know by now.............I don't sell spares !!!

Lowering the bars height Also means you need to consider fitting a shorter clutch cable , at least.

you" ll also experience an inconvenience in routing the throttle and choke cables properly to keep their actions smooth.

That basically means them billowing out in front of the headlamp !, As trying to stuff them further down under the tank will result in sticky carb issues. AND your hydraulic brake line will also be tricky to route, with the potential of the top part fouling your top yoke unless you re- angle it at what looks like a rather in-normal angle .
