Got my original H2 ignition boxes upgraded by Jim last year while me and Ang were over there, Jim turned them around for me in a couple of days - top man. And the boxes are a great bit of kit. You won't be dissapointed.

Designed for crop dusting - cockpit deliberately high for better vision. But it is ugly.

Fed up with bikes at the mo.

Spent yesterday afternoon and most of today testing the charging system on my Kawa GT 750. Battery not charging. Left me stranded on the way to work last week - bloody heavy bike to push the final mile. :(

Regulator output (loaded) - is too high.
Regulator output (no load) - OK
Stator coil resistance - OK
Stator coil insulation - OK
Rectifier checks as per Kawa manual -
Rectifier Circuit test - all 12 readings - OK
Regulator circuit tests - thyristors - OK
- Control circuit 12 and 24 volts applied - OK

So the battery is not charging but most of the checks say the reg/rec is OK. :?:
The Haynes says to check by putting a new unit in...

It's like a tractor for the skies, oooarr! so it doesn't need to be pretty

This one is the towplane for gliders now, a fairly laid back lifestyle, it would benefit from a good wash though.

Saw Vulcan over Old Sarum Airfield (Salisbury). De-spoking wheels ready for rim re-chroming; 3 spokes left and haven't resorted to hacksaw/croppers yet! Went out on my tractor (Triumph Sprint) to make the most of the dry weather. I can barely contain my excitement!

Went to see mum and she said "have you come round on that noisy motorbike again?"

Took me back years.

When I got it out of hibernation this year my H2C had a pronounced vibration from the bottom end of the motor. The grumble was such that a strip down was inevitable I left it until after Stafford as I'd promised Gerald to bring the bike for the club stand.
So...
Bike was popped on the ramp and I pulled out the motor
Image
Image

An hour later I had it stripped and the crank on the bench. Three of the mains weren't smooth but not enough for the horrible vibration the motor was putting out

Image

On closer examination two of the oil receivers on the crank look to have failed with the outer left one being in a particular mess

Image

The crank is now with Gary being rebuilt, I'm just pleased I pulled it apart now before something came loose and did some irrepairable damage

SOO?
How has that happened to the oil receiver?

I don't know Malc. I'm hoping that Gary can cast some light on it when he strips the crank.
That crank was rebuilt in 2004 when I did the bike and all I can think is that they re-used the oil receivers and or the screws
which according to the crank rebuild manual you shouldn't.

now i used dehumidifier in shed which works great gave m8 carcoon and store 1 bike a year down with him
we had 1000 vstrom, tiger 800 gsx,1100e and a zrx1100 last year takes 5 minsto set up and less to take down. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I've seen the adverts for those bags, but was always a bit dubious as to whether they would work or not. Having read your post I am minded to give them a go as my garage attracts moisture Thumbs Up
