Footman James asked me the same question, and they list authorised persons to do it. Among them is 'Restorers', so if you know anyone who does it either for a living/hobby - which is about half of this club - then that should be enough, depending on who your insurer is

I use Hagerty's insurance , they just ask for a set of photos for each machine, then they will either agree with your valuation, or dispute it , I've not had a problem to date

Very odd,
I renewed my policy with Footman and James back in August on an agreed value basis on my H2 and H1 they sent me a declaration form of honesty,
I rang them before i declared the condition and my thoughts on value to assess what their view was and the reply was send in the declaration and if the valuation department had an issue with my figures then they would get back to me and only then might they want an independent valuation,
Maybe an over inflated value rings alarm bells with them as they probably have many other similar policy holders on their books?
Hope that this is of help have a chat to them the guy i spoke to was a human being very helpful and always return calls

Just waiting for Malc to send me the valuation form back filled. I guess they are just keeping tabs on things. Either way its for the record and yes Footman seem ok but they just need it in writing from someone who knows!!.
Will keep u posted
