I'm sending the bits of my H1 B to the powder coaters on Friday I want to just check what parts are satin and what is gloss my thinking is all brackets frame swing arm ect are gloss and the only satin parts are the top yoke, headlamp ears, headlamp shell, rear brake drum, I'm not sure about the clock bracket or the bottom yoke or the indicator clamp as the previous owner painted them in gloss any help appreciated.

I like powder coat as paint scrapes off easy it gives a nice even finish which looks like paint but doesn't mark easy and is easy to clean it also seals from dampness the satin black bits look good and are resistant to petrol or brake fluid. I'm not that fussed about it being the exact same as it came ou the factory the paint and chrome from the 70s wasn't finished that good anyway.

If it had lasted 40 years, we wouldn`t be having to get them powdercoated today .
I`m not one of those who would repaint the frame thinly with no primer because it`s more original either . Take that attitude to it`s extreme and we`d all be riding on crappy nylon Japlops and belching huge swathes of smoke out the back with poor quality mineral 2 stroke oils.
All points the subject of long tedious discussions on this Forum. Wink Thumbs up .
