Hardly,
your bike will be over H1F-6000. I guesstimate ?
They started making them at H1F-0001. !! Around late July, earlymAugust 1972.
Mr Brett will have a more exact date for us all !M

And I have a couplr at the 500 and early 6000 mark. Made in Nov & Dec 72.
Hence my quick work back to guestimate they started making them Late July/Early August.
Told you Mr Brett would know !!
You threw us a wobbly saying it was made Jan 73 Nige.
That didn`t come off the VIN tag , did it ??
( If so, it must be a repo with wrong date ?? ) C`mon, Fess up. !!!!

OK, that explains it. The numbers are from an additional VIn plate riveted or glued to the Frame , depending on the State that issued it.
It's a rebuilt bike. Previously written of for insurance purposes. ( Either by crash damage, or stolen and wrecked enough even cosmetically to be written off ).
If you use the US Title to register, as it says it's a 1974 bike on it , you'll get a 74 age related plate. Probably an M reg.
If you got a Dating letter from Rick , using the original Frame Number H1F- 01117 or whatever , and sent a letter of explanation , with pictures and frame rubbings, you would eventually get it registered on original Frame number and an L reg. But it may take some toting and forcing !!!

Only thing about that then , is you will be stuck with a silly Frame number, that if/when you sell the bike will deter an ever increasing number of people from buying it ?
You`d be better , for the long run sorting it out at first registration stage. Or it will cost you , in the long run .
( And little point in saying " I`m gonna keepit forever !! As you never know what the future holds ??

)

I have done a bit of searching on the h1e frame number and why it was assigned to the bike florida vin check says its a quote rebuild
as there is no original frame number its long gone or maybe a new frame with no number ? how can I get the correct number ? engine number is kae 91127 like you say neil it would be better in the long run to have matching numbers

Well,
I suspect the Florida DMV. Will have a record of the original Frame number , as part of the new VIN re-assignation procedure. So I would put an information request in with them to find it.
your Frame number. Was originally around H1F-21xxx. Region. If Ricks records had the correlating Frame/Engine combos exactly either side of your bike , it could probably be. Worked out. but that is a,long shot.
I know as a fact , that the Kawasaki Factory records on H1-E production around that time is incomplete. As I have previously had them unable to identify and confirm an H1-E VIN #. From around those numbers. ( They will only confirm originality , if they have the exact month & year for a matching numbers bike, they won't even confirm it if you have the original VIN sticker as proof !! )
so, try Florida DMV first ?

As posted elsewhere, the bike will have entered the Country on that VIN, it will have been registered with customs on that VIN it will have had the Duty paid on that VIN and it will have been issued a NOVA on that VIN, there is NO such thing as common sense with NOVA or the DVLA, if all of a sudden you come up with the original frame number you will then have to prove to a computer or a robot that the frame number that you think the bike is, is not the number that is in the system . . . I see a lot of frustration ahead . . .

Hi Ade
That makes sense as mine is Jan 73 an 11117 ( The right amount of 1s this time Neil).
But I think the thread has moved on to Simon's VIN number frame number issues now.
