If anyone is interested and not going to Stafford, there is a ride out in the Peak District planned for Sunday 24th of this month. Subject to the weather being half decent.(it' snowing at the moment  )
Along the lines of last years Dambusters run.
Start CMC Claycross, Full tanks 10-00 hrs
Breakfast stop somewhere en route
Mileage flexible, around 100 miles but can do more if required.
Some B & C roads but no dirt tracks
any bike welcome

Tom

Enjoyable day Tom, Many thanks

I was a bit concerned when we got to the Cat and Fiddle (our breakfast stop) to find it was "closed until further notice" combined with the arrival of whiteout snow conditions!!!! End of an era for the cat and fiddle?

Still the cafe in Buxton which was combined with a laundry was an inspired choice with toasty warm gloves waiting for when the breakfast was eaten (which was lovely). The snow / rain was gone as we left the cafe and as we headed east, the roads were bone dry and we even saw the sun. It was never a scorcher of a day but it stayed dry for 5 of us for the rest of the trip.

Great day out (where was you Mr Moped???)

Yes, the Cat and Fiddle has been closed since Christmas :( . I ride over there most weeks and there are still quite a few using the seats outside but no coffee unfortunately. I see that the Robinsons Brewery website says....The Cat & Fiddle is closed until further notice. All enquiries should be forwarded to the brewery on 30.04.16. Maybe they're hoping that somone will take on the business, although it's hard to imagine that it could ever be profitable. It's always been shut at 8:00pm even in summer.

You are very welcome. An interesting day out and no mistake. Weather aside it was a god run and it was only wet for short while :?

We'll do part two when it's a bit warmer eh?
