Kawasaki Triples Club

Hello everyone, I am new to the club, purchased the above bike,t I have not ridden for 30odd years, fist bike 1953 road various two strokes until 1960.Had a Suzuki x5 in the 80's.
I am having trouble finding a touch up in the CANDY EMERALD GREEN on my bike, have left the air filter cover with a supplier to see what they come up with, any help out there.
A bit more vibration than I expected, is this normal?
Bike imported from Italy this year with 7000km on the clock looks great.

Welcome aboard

All triples vibrate, although the smaller they get, the smoother they are. The first thing to do is check timing and carb balance, all info is here http://kawtriple.com/mraxl/ I assume you don't have any loud knocking from the bottom end etc. If it sounds like a cement mixer, you've got your answer.

Also check everything is tight, engine bolts, rotor, exhausts, handlebars, handlebar mount dampers (perished?), footrests etc. etc. Triples have a habit of coming apart all by themselves...

If everything is tight and set up with no funny noises you're probably OK, you could always try to get a ride on a sorted 400 so you can get a benchmark - there was some very nice ones at last week's Southern Triples Rally which would have been a good oppotunity.

P.S. Don't expect miracles in trying to touch-up Candy paint, it's not a 'solid' colour as such, the more coats that are applied, the darker the shade gets - one reason why the factory Candy colours were so variable back in the day :wink:
