number plates

I am looking to get some number plates front and rear for the '72 s2 that i am restoring.I am looking to get some pressed aluminium plates and because the bike was registered in 1972,L regd,i could fit black,but also thought about getting white front and yellow rears,wondered what would look better?I thought it was a bit "obvious" to fit black plates,but i am pretty sure that back in 1972 the buyers of a new bike would like to appear "modern" by fitting the then fairly new amber and white plates.Wondered about your views on this ?

You have certainly got that bug thats going around mate

Seriously though, you do have a point.I suppose most bikes would of had the yellow and black plates.Suppose its your choice but a hard one !!

All the vehicles I have bought with original number plates that could have had the B & W plate had the pressed steel yellow/white

kawasaki samurai, mk 1 capri, kawasaki h1a

saying that, you do not see many black and white plates in everyday life

I would always go for B/W unless I had the original plates, then I would keep them, as it is how it left the shop
