Where's a good place to start looking for some period type clip-ons and headlight brackets for my H2c?

Back in the day I think we all had Tomaselli clip-ons and so we had to remove the headlight brackets to expose the top of the forks and then bought these chrome brackets that were the right diameter for the fork leg and the headlight just bolted straight back on.

I don't mind if I find genuine period parts of something that feels the right period. Not really into the super modern billet machined clipions readily available - more like a black, satin finished set made from formed sheet and two allen bolts with the bar welded on at the right angle.

I bought some of those Jota bars at Stafford last year. Easy way to change as mood takes you!

Period Bars were ACE bars , Emgo make the brackets, remember we are talking the 70's when we didn't have a lot of money

I put a pair of those gold Tomaselli (?) clip ons on my H2C, but I followed the Honda CB900F and CBX way of having them above the top yoke by using longer Z1 forks that poked through the yoke. The vibration from losing the rubber mounts made my hands raw on longer runs. Doing it this way also kept the standard headlight brackets.

I've got some period rear sets and the number of a good osteopath. Where did those front mudguards come from? Very de rigueur in the 70's - I had one on my fizzy in the early 80s. Funny what you remember, I was concerned that the floppiness of the mudguard would 'upset the handling' so I made a fork brace out of the bracket that held up one of those super trouper spotlights they used to have in schools. I twokked it from the physics lab when I was in the sixth form. It was made from 3/8 flat bar and I braced it up proper. What a cock, was nearly as heavy as the rest of the bike.

two things;
first at all vibrations with clips on on H2 are crazy as wrote Hal before. This didn't disturb me on the 70s when I was young (truely I still remember being 10 minutes or more like a guy with parkinson disease after a long ride ) but now .
Then on B or C model am afraid switchs can hit the tank unless you fit clips on nearly 180° on the fork tubes (was the case on H1D and after)

As I said earlier Jota bars so you benefit from rubber mounts.

it's ace bar and Tomaselli still builds the same ace bar they did on 70s, have a set on my H2A

bottom of 9 and bottom of 11 for up and down with Jota bars.

Jota bars are the way to go, if we had the money way back when, that's what we fitted to everything, but, as was normally the case, once I'd spent my money on go slower expansion pipes, ACE bars were more normal

Mitsui. Yes! Everyone had those front mudguards! All the local bike shops in Lancaster and Preston had them hanging on the walls in white fibreglass and you had to spray them up to match your bike. I had Jota bars on my Z400J. They were very hard to get hold of back then.

I think you are all right about the vibration and steering lock - I may look for a set of Ace bars.

I have one of the mudguards if you want one Bic.

I'm starting to collect together all the bits to make my old bike so looking for bars, rear sets, seat etc. so yes I'd be interested. PM me with price you want.

I'm thinking about maybe getting another triple to do this work on, maybe a 400 or late model H1.

Yes , I think an H1 would fit the bill
