Does anyone know where I can get some touch up paint for my h1f, its the brown / candy gold colour.

Kawasaki's Candy paint colours were never an exact science, original colours were pretty much down to whatever the factory felt like mixing on the day, so getting touch up's to match can be VERY difficult.

Never found. Rs paints colours to be anywhere near right shade. ( although it may be as every tank out there was faded )

But that was years ( err, decades ). Ago!!

Thing is the Factory paint method involves a colour base coat , then the sparkle then the colour tint . So to magic that up out of one jar of paint would be amazing.

Folk on here these days have taken a side panel as a colour match into a Nail Bar , and bought a nail varnish to match the shade of paint. For a small chip that works well, as like the original paint scheme , the tint builds up with a few applications until you are close to matching the depth of colour ?

You get some strange looks , but what the hell ?!!

When I bought my little S1C a year or so ago, it came with a NOS tank that had been wrapped in the original brown paper and plastic bag all these years. There was however, a spot about 3.5cm above the K on the left side that had bubbled up and was damaged.
I bought the paint from RS and it was close to being right but I couldn't convince myself that it was good enough to put on my NOS tank.

In the end, I took and hand carried the tank up to Connecticut here in the states to have John at LRC Triples look at it.

He wrote me later to tell me that his paint guy had tried dozens of different shades...he would mix and check, mix and check, mix and check over and over again....in the end, I cannot tell where the damaged spot was...it's that good. They also used the color to paint my tailpiece for me and they even discarded the tailpiece decal I had bought from RB & given to him and had the striping painted on the tailpiece to match the NOS tank. John & Kathy at LRC Triples in Bridgeport conn did a fantastic job on my tank & tailpiece!

Some guys, IF they are really good, will do what ever it takes to get it right.

As you can see in the pics, the tank before it went to John with the tailpiece & decal, then after he repaired the paint....identical tank, same day in fact...just different lighting....and THAT's the danger in trying to work from a photo....the painter must have it in front of him to match the color.
