I received a new V5 for my KH500 last week and wondered why? Today I got this letter....

I didn't think that it was eligible until next January, so hadn't bothered applying. They just did it automatically! :)

Money to bloody money

I have got historic tax on mine as well, but firts application never got through, had to chase it up. Sent via royal mail to be signed for at DVLA but got told it was undeliverable.

The DVLA and post office do not give you much confidence.

No, it's just the DVLA being literal. A motorcycle has 2 wheels therefore it's taxation class is 'bicycle' in their eyes, but no, pedal cycles are not taxed. THOUGH THEY F*CKIN' SHOULD BE.

Thanks for clarifying that for me MS! If it were here in the States, I would be worried that they were planning on taxing bicycles TOO!! That's just how the bureaucrats operate here. They recently passed a series of price hikes here....but what they didn't tell us was the price hikes had built-in escalation hikes in each of the next 3 years!
