40+ year old exhausts are not the easiest things to chrome and unless they're really solid and free from damage I wouldn't bother. These from my A7 and S2 were good to start with and I had all the minor dents and scrapes fixed before they went to the chromers (R&S Electroplating Failsworth) - £100 per exhaust to strip, polish and chrome. Others may well recall how bad they were in the past but I think they're good now and comparitively cheap.

Thanks for the heads up Pete....
Only wan't one pipe doing and it's from a VERY low mile bike with no damage or rot, just a small amount of pitting due to poor storage.
I've mailed R&S to see what they say.

Mark at R&S will happily strip the existing chrome to enable repairs to be carried out before polishing and plating. He'll also give his opinion on whether or not what you're got is worth doing. He's recently stripped a set of early H1 pipes for me which are currently being repaired (dents etc.). The seamed pipes e.g. S2/H2 and later H1s are more problematic - they're often very thin along the welded seams (so it's impossible to polish out any corrosion).
