Hi All
If you have fitted H2 UFO's , would you like to sell the left over spring seat plate ? , the little disc that goes over the jet needle that sits at the base of the slider .
Cash waiting .
Thanks for looking

Isn't this still needed, with or without UFOs?

The UFO kits are supplied with a modified spring seat plate , so that the UFO's can be screwed into the end of the slider , so the normal plate will no longer fit .
Hence the request for any one who wants to sell there old ones
All the best
Mark

Pete has got plenty of sets out there and they work well according to the fittees...
However in light of your previous mails, it's probably better to iron out issues first then add the UFOs as you will need to rejet afterwards anyway, the Pilots mainly, they will need approximately halving in size.
I presume that this is due to the extra speed of the air passing over the venturi giving a greater suction at lower throttle openings.

Have them in three of my triples now ..
Most change is with 750's & low speed throttle response is improved & surging reduced to insignificant .. On the 500 i find improved torque down the bottom end so when you are about to overtake it takes less planning than before
There are alot of sweet running triples around the world & i was suprised by how many run slide inserts & have done for years once i asked a similar question

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but are the UFO’s an alternative to an Ivan’s kit, or used in conjunction to an Ivans?

Either / or.
They are two separate upgrades, you can do as much or as little as you like,

Ey up wolfie
My problems were solved by removing the ivan kit which transformed the bike back to the fun h2 it was! Surging is worse but i prefer that to the other issues the ivans brought. Also got me some higgspeeds to play with now. After 30 years I fancied a change!
May have a dabble with ufos once the pipes are set up.

Higgspeeds add a dimension compared to standard pipes. Tend to need minor adjustment from standard. I've just run one size over on mains.

107.5 mains 35 pilots. if you use UFO's 17.5 pilots, air screw out another quarter of a turn. that seem to be the general rule of thumb.

Where would you get the 17.5 pilot jets from
Cheers.

I was about to suggest making some Mark, it can't be too difficult co cut a circle then cut a Pizza slice out of it.
But good to hear you're sorted.

Higgspeeds fitted. WOW sounds and goes brill. The sound of the exhausts makes the engine quieter too!
It all seems more smooth. less surging, clean power and then more power woohoo. Did i mention the noise? its music i tel yer. I suspect the old pipes being unequal in their flow resistance wernt helping anything.
Question - Is it normal to get a slight hint of yellowing on the downpipes on polished stainless pipes? Or am i getting it too hot?
A happy windy

They do darken just so slightly, but a good dose of Solvol will bring them back for a while..

Thanks Graham. So long as the colour doesn't suggest too much heat > seizure!
