southern rally 2009

It's now official the Lower Bell PH Friday 11th- Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September 2009 will carry on until such time as we cannot use this site for the Kent Garden of england Rally
del had a 2 hour meeting with the Bar manager & Landlord on Wed 25th at club meeting.

All items ironed out now he will let us know for the commitee & future club mag & web site what the full itenery is :D

2nd Garden Of England Rally September 2009 at the Lower Bell PH
Dates Fri 11th Sat 12th Sunday 13th September
All day £15 each Saturday only £10 each
Proposal & agreements by Pub Management & SPSG Committee
1. Late Licence 2pm with 20 minutes drink up time Friday & Saturday evening
2. Breakfasts Saturday & Sunday morning Cash taken in advance at the bar on a token system! Full English £5 Continental £3 same as last year
3. Bands Friday evening Wasted Ace?s 70?s & 80?s Rock band, Saturday evening Usual Suspects Conventional Rock Band DJ Delboy D disco both evenings afterwards!
4. Food New Indian restaurant at the rear of the pub available to us 6-9pm Plus All Day Food from outside Catering Van already available!! But will be available for us all day & night until chuck out time! (Food from this Van maybe consumed on the premises!!)
Parking Camping & Other Facilities
5. Entry payment Taken at new gated entrance & handled by SPSG marshals
6. Parking & Camping area Vehicles will be guided by SPSG marshals to the far end in an orderly manner & tents to be pitched on the soft area of the car park & roped off. An over spill field will be available close bye just in case!
7. Bike parking At the top end same as last year & roped off
8. Parking for punters! Centre section will be used by the regular customers
9. Free up parking spaces This year there will not be any caravans or unwanted Lorries taking up valuable spaces!
10. Mobile twin toilet block & wash basins With the extra revenue generated & the fact we do not have to finance the bands we have negotiated a twin toilet block with wash basins for the week end @ just £200 for cash! (To be paid by us)
11. Early Friday evening A 10 mile ride for a cold beer at ?The Dancing Dog Saloon? a local country & western bar Yee ha!
12. Saturday The now infamous 100 mile ?biggest triples ride out in the world? same format as last year with a fish & chip meal at the Pilot Dungeness
13. Paul Smart Not sure weather Paul will be available yet but rest assured if he is he said he will come!
14. Consumption of own Alcohol It has been expressed by the landlord he will not tolerate any Individuals that continue to abuse the free entertainment whilst sitting on his decking & consuming their own alcohol in his glasses!!! I for one agree with him that this is a complete piss take (However he does not condone anyone who drinks there own alcohol in or near their tents & vehicles)

I felt a bit robbed as a continental breakfast was simply two (small) croissants and coffee, especially when he sent you after me for an extra quid because I took my own cup.

The french team will be I hope bigger than usual possibly 6 bikes, five triples and a special Kawasaki W 650 (modern one :shock: ).

mistakes were made on both sides last year but del has worked hard to fix them, i was in on the meeting with the landlord and i for one think it will be much better this time, learning curve for both us and our hosts :D phil

its a good venue and i had a long discussion with DEL a couple of weeks ago.
he knew the problems and i know he was getting them all sorted :D

And all the comments, well most anyway!!

We could have done a lot worse I can tell you that for nowt!!
It's a great venue, in the heart of the garden of England

Sits between the two major road networks with, Maidstone the County town of Kent just a mile away & to top it off most of you including Johnny Foreigner know how to get their 8)
