Took the H2 to Brands Hatch today for my first trackday of the year. Got lucky 13 pit garage and then failed the noise test. Limit is now 103dcb and the bike with K2-tec spannies was 109dcbc at 7000rpm. Bummer. Now back at home again and the sun is out.

I had it at mallory years ago on a GSXR1000.
I tested at 113 DBC
The limit was over a 100 but cant remember what?
The residents were complaining after the first session and they then decided to make it a"quiet" day 97DBC!!
The bikes that were passing the test were SP1 and Aprilia V twins yet they were the most offensive noise wise on the track!!
The noise test guy did say to me if its any consolation you have the noisiest bike here!

They are really strict at Brands and even if you pass the static test they have microphones around the circuit and you can get black flagged.
Kerry really struggled to get Orville through recently even after modifying the pipes.
There are tracks and classic track days with higher limits., even one with no limit at Donnington.

I've found it difficult to get out testing as mine struggles to make the ACU 105db limit, and I've only found test days at that limit to be suitable. I'm not aware of any track days, as opposed to test days that have no noise limits applied. Most track days I've looked at seem to be either 98db or 102db.

Let me know if there are any though, I'm badly in need of track time this year!

Donnington recently had a trackday with 208db limit

How ironic that a circuit in a bowl, on the Gatwick flight path and next to the M25, can have a noise limit.

The typical scenario of people moving near Race track/Drag strip and then complain about the noise.
It might be in a bowl but so is most of West Kingsdown and that has grown in size over the years.
Bloody shame how things get spoilt

That's why with Exactweld we go testing in Spain , not only is the weather at this time of the year really good but they don't care about the noise they are pleased to see you ,It's a English Anoraks thing here , it's Bollox

I used to live in West Kingsdown, as you drive past the track entrance then into West kingsdown I lived down the road on the right opposite the petrol station. Probably about 1000 meters from the track as the crow flies. Suprisingly the noise from the track wasn't an issue unless it was a formula 1 car. Most of the noise nuisance came from the helicopters on race days. Lived there for about 18 years and never knew anyone who complained about the noise. Of course, some houses back directly onto the track so for them it would be an issue. Racing only used to take place on weekends with a few practice sessions beforehand in the week. That didn't seem to be much of a problem. Then it was track days and driving experience days and then it was every day of the week and that's probably when the complaints started. On the bright side once the season ends so does the racing, and they don't do it at night in any case. Oh and if you live nearby you get free entry to the track.
