Mark had that Blue H1F for sale a time back. Was a club member.

I did ask them to mention the NW rally but I think they printed that a few months back and its also in the whats on diary. I cannot claim responsiblity for this months article, I don't think

Incidentally, there is also an article about a tidy unrestored (but completely cleaned up) 5,200 mile S1B belonging to Luton man Mark Sulman (a club member anyone??) who rescued it from 30 years dry storage in Hartney Wintney. Coincidentally, in the early days of the club 20 years odd years ago we used to have monthly Sunday meetings at the Pheonix in Hartney Wintney, and to think this bike was just up the road. It's a small world sometimes - like finding out yesterday about Pete Gards H2C which he keeps with a couple of other triples only a mile from me. Where else are they lurking to be discovered.

I too visited the Phoenix at Hartley Wintney in my early days in the club before I restored my S2. I recall Dave Grist on his S2 and H2C (not at the same time!), a certain Ian Brison on an H2 and a Z1 and you in your yuppie-mobile (Pug 1.9 GTi) There was another guy who turned up on a Jota (not Farmer John!) and Ian Piggott put in appearance at least once......

Went to see that, very nice, had a bid but it went way to high for me.

Alan Smith? Was he the guy with the H1B with mufflers he made himself?

No H1B - a H2C (still owned) and later a white S1. This is him and Gristy in the mid '80's on our 3 purple C's


And last year with my 72 he has kindly resurrected

I am sure that Alan Smith had an H1b as I remember that like myself he worked at the RAE Farnborough & he knocked a Set up using Stainless Steel - In their time & their Materials!!

I also remember one Sunday when Ian Brison turned up on an imported 1973 Z1 & let us all have a blast on it up the A30 towards Hook - Only problem was that there was no Front Brake!! - No Brake Fluid!!
He had only taken it out of the crate from the States the day before!! - No Brakes-No MOT- Totally Illegal!!

That was also the !st time I met Mark Hutton who lived at the time at Knaphill,Woking & had a H1a and a bad Leg which is now fixed happily
And Ian Piggott who got me into this Triples lark in the first place - Ian you have a lot to answer for!!!

Keith is talking about the same guy as I am, but it's not the guy in Hal's picture. His bike featured in a club mag at around that time with a CBX Dyna ignition fitted. I'm sure his name was Alan, but perhaps not Smith! Looks like a trip to the loft to answer this one.......
