Insurance cover

Come the time to renew the insurance cover for my two bikes and I find that Carole Nash has withdrawn all cover except for when they're actually in my garage, so time to look around.
Can anyone recommend an insurer that'll cover bikes when in the garage, in transit, and at an event, e.g. track day or show. Cover to cease when the engine is started and I climb aboard.
Anyone got this sort of cover and could recommend an insurer? Or indeed, who not to bother contacting!
Thanks
Stephen

I've been with RH for a while, very competitive prices. Nice to deal with and don't charge for amendments.

I have actually contacted RH and got a quote, but although the paperwork has 'RH Motor Cover' on every page there's nothing that says what IS covered. Plenty of stuff about what's not covered, but nothing that states what is covered, and they are intransigent about making any kind of statement confirming cover.
So I'm holding fast on that one for the moment!
Thanks

Been with RH for a couple of years. They have no admin fees to change/swop bikes on the insurance policy. So far so good from my side

I've heard good things about RH but I'm wary about not having clear sight of what's actually covered. Their stance is that if it's not on the list of things they don't cover, then it's covered by default. Frankly I'm not optimistic about my chances of success on this basis should I need to make a claim.
Sceptical, but I've not yet ruled them out!
Thanks

I've been with RH for a few years now, and everything is laid out in the policy document (if you can be bothered to read through it all).
Someone on here recently had to make an in-transit claim with them, and hopefully they may chime in.

That was Wolfie and he said that they came good in the end.

I went with Peter James this year after Carole Nash kept pushing their prices up. So far so good, covering a combination of classic & modern bikes.

RH Insurance.. Bike damaged while in transit in the back of my Van. This situation wasn't a problem at all.
Yes, I can confirm after the initial lack of phone contact on the day (which they couldn't explain) Everything was looked after on my behalf without any problems..
They handed the case to a company (or maybe a division) called 4th Dimension, who collected the bike for inspection and also handled all the inspections by the other party's insurers.
The final value for the bike was far in excess of our agreed value, they retrieved the final value minus the salvage value from the other insurance company and returned the bike.
The remaining value cheque was sent out in the post.

Hi All, I use Peter James as well and found the team very helpful when setting up cover and was very happy with price (£227) and level of cover for 6 bikes, in garage, on the road, parked or in the EU, also easy the add another half way through cover, had a friend who broke down in France and they flew him home and picked up the bike from France and dropped it off at his house without any quibbles. I haven't had to call on their services as yet (Finger crossed I don't need to) but after hearing about how they looked after my mate couldn't go any where else.

I was with Footman James (as it was then) and when the yearly quotation for Equity Red Star Cover arrived, it had gone up from around £110.00 to almost £150.00 so I queried it..
Footman said unfortunately that was the price and they couldn't do anything about it.
Phoned RH and they rang back as they were busy, I still had the Equity Red Star documents with me so went through the cover, yes theirs covered the same, it covered this, it covered that, it had all the values and everything for £75.00.. I was dubious at that price but signed up..
When the Documents arrived, fkme if it wasn't Equity Red Star... The same policy that Footman were asking twice the price for..
It has slowly crept up since then and is now just over £100.00 again..
And they say you only find out how good your insurance is when you need to claim well I did.. Brilliant.

I have an RH policy and found them very good on classics but not on more modern stuff.
They WOULD cover everything but the price rocketed so I ended up with the two modern bikes on a CN policy.
Just to note ...the CN policy attracts no claims discount ..the RH policy doesn't.
Admin wise RH have been spot on and, as mentioned, no fees for minor changes.

I haven't had to make a claim yet but pleased to hear they came good for Wolfie in the end.

Thanks for all the feedback on this.
Here's where I am so far:-
CN kicked into touch because they confirmed in writing, and have it recorded on their system that I'm covered for 'in transit' and 'at the trackside, show or event' whereas the policy says otherwise. Complaint in progress
RH was initially interesting but stalled on stating the actual cover, and I did go through the small print. Not yet kicked into touch.
BeMoto were recommended by Properly Protected, but after sending them loads of info about all the 'modifications', and photos, nearly 2 weeks later I'm still waiting for a response from the underwriters.
At the moment I'm talking to Hagerty, who do classic car and bike insurance. All is looking good for just the cover I want and at a sensible price, but they've got a few minor corrections to make, like forgetting to take into account that I'm a member of 3 classic bike clubs. And one bike as 748cc and the other as 750cc. And other minor stuff like that. Looking hopeful though.
BTW, I have both my bikes, and trailer registered with Datatag. Is this something KTC members do? It should shave a few shillings off the premium, but I'm waiting to see ...
Thanks again
