Kawasaki Triples Club

Hi gents, new to the club and joined after i purchased a H1F(candy green) to restore having always wanted one when i were in my youth!! .Anyway joining the club put my in touch lots of people, ie:Gary C (downpipe3) who's currently rebuilding my engine, Mark (tangoman) who's currently refurbishing carbs and petcock! so thanks guys for your work and knowledge which has guided me right on numerous fields. Chrome work (exhausts and a few items away today for refurb)
Anyway thought i would put on a few pics of the results so far as i have been busy since September when i purchased this 1975 H1F as a running project. Well i say running, i mean very roughly as upon stripping it was clear the owner was somewhat lapse in the finer details having sort of rebuilt the bike on a basic level to sell!
So the plan was to completely strip it, and as near as i could restore it to concourse/very high standard and something as an owner i could be proud of. The bike was 90% complete so that was a good place to start and i have been slowly obtaining new/refurbished items as i find them, the build is more complicated as i am a bit OCD!!!!!!
Anyway whilst i know some far more knowledgeable people than me will have opinions and may suggest this is not right or that is incorrect ( i am learning more every day i spend on it or talking to people about it!) i hope to have a completed bike that I am proud of.

Sent them to Reeve metal finishing in smethick, Birmingham. Found them online and they seem on the ball with a 4 week turn around so watch this space for results!

Hi Jim.....looking good so far ..if you wanna get pikkie....thats an aftermarket rear sprocket... I might have some better clox though....candy sky blue and candy yellow.....aka brown are the ones listed in triples resources site.....although there is a green pictured...the nice sea green colour.....is that your one ??

Yes, named candy green/lime, personally i think its the best colour for the H1 (actually brought this bike because it was green). It always was a Kawasaki colour option but for some reason on the F they discontinued it in the UK but kept it for the US market. As mine is a US bike i am keeping it original.
Obviously new H1F decals are being fitted to tank and rear cowl, however i have researched the side panel decals and i believe the correct layout on a H1F is, white 500 badges only, they deleted the Mach111 and cdi ignition decals off of the side panels on the F model, i want to get this correct prior to paint obviously!! Those with greater knowledge than me please advise if i am correct or not?????????

Thanks Tony, That image would also suggest I am correct that they also deleted the Mach 111 and cdi ignition transfers on the side panels as I thought. Unless any other info comes to light I am opting to go with this.

Mine didn't have the decals and was original paint.....Candy Yellow.....or as we know it ....Brown....

The issue about green H1F has been brought up in the past. There is no evidence that it ever existed on US or any Triple. It was concluded that green H1F's were repaints. Perhaps there is evidence to the contrary?

As soon as it’s in colour I will, no point sending it now as it’s just been blasted clean!

Clocks away at Alans!! a few up to date images of progress so far. Engine back from Gary, carbs back from Mark etc etc, tank and panels back tomorrow for me to fit the decals then back to lacquer!

Hi Rob, fyi Tank etc now back and a little bit further along the line to completion!
Paint was eventually matched from the original as all the research and results my painter got back were a lot darker than the original so we had the colour matched from the original side panel and the result was perfect.
