Whats the consencous on plugs ,mine came with 9 in it ,are they a bit to much,should it have 8s in it thanks in advance

I use 8s on all my triples. That's my preference only.

After talking to a plug expert I can confirm that 8s are probably best for most of us.

You are right Ralfs heads on both the 4 cylinder and the Kawacati. Just having a bit of fun on a bank holiday

Its ok never even noticed the slip up ES 4 me Z1 Hs 4 me H2, school boy error ,

B8ES suggestion is totally inappropriate for stock H2 heads.
Use B8HS is good if you are puttering around the neighborhood.... but that can cause other problems.
B9HS is best for all round usage.

Agree with Mraxl, B9HS is perfect for all round usage.
I use them on K triples since years (nearly 50 years now) w/o any problem

B8HS if your limp wristed on the throttle and only think it works one way (off)
If your letting it rip then B9HS

Will stick with the 9s then .

I have actually used a BP8HS-10 which is an extended nose type plug,( but it's only 2mm extended) so still miles away from the piston, due to the basically crap design
of the combustion chamber they do make a difference especially when used in Town type stuff.

We need to remember that Kawasaki recomended B9HS, but Kawasaki need to cover all bases here and that plug will also allow the bike to thrashed for mile after mile, something I
dont think most of us would do these days

PS: I'll just add that I also did many miles at 75-80 mph with the BP8HS fitted (and a couple of plug chops) all was fine

"HS" plugs were specified for all H2 and all late model Triples.
"HS" is standard electrode.
"HC" Is low angled ground electrode.
"HC" were specified for early S models and H1A.
"HS" will work fine in all Triples when properly gapped.

There has been a lot of misconceptions about what "C" means. Here is NGK definition:

"A low angled ground electrode is shorter and closer to the metal shell and center electrode, providing a faster path to transfer heat away from the ground electrode. Its low profile design is resistant to vibration.

A smaller electrode requires less voltage to jump the gap, resulting in fewer misfires, which translates to increased fuel economy and horsepower. A smaller electrode also reduces flame quenching. "

yes and on the plastic box fited on the tail rest you had 3 B9HC when you got the bike new (on H2A) .
But they became rare bird now and B9HS do the job as well.
